If you are planning coming to Dublin Airport to view the military movements , think again . We are living in a police state .

I have to agree, spotters get a pretty lousy deal in this country. The sooner Obama is in and gone again, the better. I have no problem with his visit, just as I'd no problem with queenies visit but do peoples everyday lives need to be f*^ked up so much??

I´ve planned a three day spotting/sightseeing trip from Germany months ago, but cancelled it last night after reading about all the restrictions.

This would be no fun. Guess it was just bad timing. If anyone catches AF One on photo without being arrested, please show here ;)

Driving home from work this morning at 7am i decided to take a detour around the perimiter, was unbelievable. Gardai and Armed Soldiers every 200 yards, hundreds of barriers restricting our movements.

I was stopped going down one road, i asked the garda where i could see Air Force One land, he said i was too late as it and Obama was already here!! That was at 7.30 this morning!

I know they've a job to do but there's no need to be a twat about it and lie

i do believe that they will have their own scrambled comms with them so nobody knows its exact location. as of nine all traffic will be grounded then air force one will begin its approach they will have plenty of clouds to hide in tomorrow. I'm goin to try and get up there anyway i have a spot that might work its on the approach not the perimeter

Should be, the forecast is saying SSW tomorrow at 6 am and SW at 12, so that means 28 unless they decide to land in another direction altogether

According to current NOTAM, 16/34 is closed from 0800 tomorrow (23rd) to 1200 tuesday which would make me think its coming in there, most likely on 34

I was going to go in early to snap a view from inside the airport.....but heard about the restrictions today............
......not worth the hassle to try get some shots from the terminal waiting to be stopped by airport police/gardai/DF.

Does that mean it'll be flying in over Howth and portmarnock?

If AF1 is landing on 28 yes it will be. The winds could change though and change all that!
