would love to date

I know there have been threads similar to this before but here I go.

I'm recently single from a 3 year relationship, which ended nicely. So I don't have lets call it baggage.

Although I don't mind being single, I would like to meet someone. I'm to an extent gone past the whole meeting someone in a bar/nightclub with alcohol on board because I don't believe many people are genuine in that kind of situation.
So I decided to join a dating website. I've met a few guys, only one disaster, but none of them lived up to their profile. The one guy I was attracted to is only looking for something casual.

I suppose the point I'm trying to get to is, are there any men who actually want to date with no pretences?
I'd love to meet someone that I can date, have fun with, not looking to actually fall in love but it would be nice to have someone.
I'm good looking although not perfect and I know I've got a good personality but its so difficult to meet someone.
I know many responses will say....join a club or something to that effect. however the type of job I'm in involves a lot of overtime.

What I want to know is from a mans perspective generally would you like to meet a girl to date or just mess around until you want to settle down?

In short yes, I think there are men who share the same view as you.
I came out of a LTR about a year ago and my next relationship was exactly what you are describing, dating without the pressure of 'Where's this going?' etc.
It is nice to just be in a light relationship for a while, with no expectation or serious commitment needed.
Now unfortunately in my case, she fell in love with me and it ended, so beware that it is difficult to avoid those emotions the longer it goes on.
That's been my experience at least.

    Thanks for the reply.

I understand it is tough not to have an emotional attachment to someone if you are seeing them for a while. I do not intend to grow attached to anyone, become fond of them maybe but I do not want to fall in love just yet.

I just find that so many men I've met since my relationship ended are just out for one thing, I'm not a prude by any means but I'm not looking for casual sex.

It's pretty much the same for us guys too.

I recently put up a thread for something no too dissimilar as I'm looking to meet someone with the intention of a relationship too. But as I've learned you have to relax and let it happen. Just a matter of time i suppose. but hang in there.
