He's a good guy who does good work, fully deserves the publicity (haven't read the article yet) and hopefully the work that follows it :)

Yeah, in all my correspondence with him, I've gotten the impression that he's always buzzed about doing good work and it doesn't really seem like he thinks of it as a job. Really good vibe about the guy, will definitely be having him do some work on my hunting guns as and when I can.

The workmanship and the manner in which he runs his bussiniess speaks volumes more than words when you see theses type of people crossing the pound for Fergal to build their rifles. Great to see custom rifle building to be such a high standard here in ireland !

That's actually an older article. He's been featured in it again this month. Pete Carr was so impressed he ordered a custom .300 win mag before he left. :) Good an endorsement as any!

It's damn nice to see this kind of good publicity for an Irish setup.

How did Carr stop Fergal talking for long enough to get out of his shop? ;)

Absolutely brilliant. I hope it gets him all the business he deserves. The UK's been a competitive market for a long time and if Fergal can start attracting business away from them, that's fantastic. He's a genuinely nice guy, too.

    Do you have the Mag?

I have tried in 3 shops this week and I only could find Sporting Gun on the Shelves.I knew the article was coming out, mad to get a read of it.

I'm nowhere near a Decent Newsagent at the minute nor do I have the spare time to go searching.:o

Can I respectfully suggest that as many people as possible buy an actual hard copy of the magazine if they can find it?
Sales figures are the lifeblood of these low-circulation specialist magazines, and they're the only tangible thing they can use to attract advertisers and keep them publishing.
By all means, share the particular article in this case around to all and sundry, it's terrific publicity and promotion for 'one of our own', but the magazine publishers need to know that this sort of article has a positive effect on their sales figures too.
Perhaps drop them a note thanking them for the coverage and hoping that they'll do more in the future?

Fair play to Mr. F. White for getting that coverage.
    Due Credit where Credit's Due!

It's great to see good news about firms in Ireland. It's particularly good to see that Ireland Custom Rifles' work is being recognised overseas, as well as here, for what it is - top class.

Thanks to the OP for the heads-up on the article!

Yeah, he really seems to be making himself popular and well known, which is great to see. Just hope he doesn't get too busy. ;) I may have work for him before too long, funding model depending...

He deserves all the publicity, god knows he worked hard enough for it, i think i handled that rifle aswell, or else one the exact same in a differant calibre, the defiance actions are lovely, the spiral fluting in the bolt is cool, hefty enough rifle though

Great exposure for Fergal he deserves it. I hope to have my own White lightening soon enough.

Very good and in depth write up , Not to mention its his second time in such an informed magazine . The 6.5x56 is an unusual calibre choice . But they must have being very impressed to order a custom build off him .

I think he meant 6.5x47 Lapua, as that's been gaining ground as a target round. 6.5x57 is a rather more esoteric hunting round (a good one, but you'll be hard pressed to get ammo!). And yeah, Pete Carr knows his hunting rifles, so if he's happy, it's hard to see it being a bad call.

Ok, Taught the 6.5x57 would be an odd choice for a target round .

Or he gets a cheap rifle in exchange for doing article ?

Or he gets a cheap rifle in exchange for doing article ?

With a magazine like that, i would say he has the pick of any rifle builder both here and the uk but yet he picks mr white , I really do not think he done the article for a cheap rifle ;)

From what i have read of the man, He has basically any rifle at his disposal and to say he would like to add a fergal white rifle to his collection speaks a lot of mr white and his work ;)

Managed to pry the mag out of the Father's hands. Seriously. Ever see a man take 5 hours to "flick" through a mag.

Anyway. Good write up for Fergal, and well deserved. As has been said numerous times in this thread its good to see some home grown builders getting the attention they have worked hard for.

It's only the tip of the Ice-Berg for IrelandCustomRifle.

I look Forward to see the business growing and evolving into a recognised Brand name in the International Shooting Community.

I always said we have some of the Best skills in the world in this country.
We as a people just need to get behind our home grown Industries.

I have had several Rifle Jobs done by Fergal and all done in a timely fashion and to a very high standard.

    Watch this Space ;)
