after visiting a few dealers in the last month looking for a new rifle i thought it was funny that all the dealers preferred differant makes of rifles, whether this was because they were trying to sell what the had or not i'll never know but i found it interesting the way one dealer would rate rifle x way above rifle y and then the dealer next door would say the exact opposite.
so i'd like to know what your favourite factory cf rifle make is, i dont care about calibre or model, just the brand, as long as its at a reasonable price,
i dont want lads talking about holland and hollands as being the best or custom rifles, just the most popular rifle makes :D

I voted for Savage, which surprised me as i would consider myself a CZ fan. When it came to clicking on an option i hesitated then chose Savage.

The Savage line of rifles have simply come into their own in the last few years and not counting the target line (F/TR, Palma, BR, etc) the majority of their rifles are cheap, accurate, and off good quality.
They are often overlooked, especially in the .22lr range of rifles, but as this is about CF we'll leave that for another day. I like the feel of the rifles, the accu-trigger took a bit of getting used to but now i find firing a rifle without one to be "off-putting".
The variation of barrels, twist rates, barrel sizes (heavy, light, etc) the various stocks, be they Savage's own or McMillan, H&S, etc is excellent.

A major selling point for them is the Savage rifles ability to feed pretty much any type of ammo of any weight. My 10FCP will shoot the 150gr as well as the 200gr even though the 1:10 should prefer the heavier. The headspacing is quite big meaning no chambering issues. As mentioned earlier the biggest selling point would probably be the price. My rifle cost just under €1,000. Thats anywhere from €200-€1,000 cheaper than other brands of simialr quality.

I have a Sauer 202 Outback and Tikka t3 lite and have had a Sako 75, all three are very good rifles,i voted for the Sauer, it just has that extra bit of quality, the bolt is very smooth, great trigger and if you want you can buy spare barrels for it.

for the money the tikka is a cracking rifle would highly recomend the tikka.

I voted Ruger because I prefer the action/bolt machanism in comparison to remington. However from a value for money perspective i would go with CZ considering their quality. Just to add I only have experience with about 4 of the list you have so I might have tunnel vision

i voted tikka as they are out of the box a great rifle no need for tinkering. after that i would go with steyr.

cz is a great rifle as well for value for money

most people cant afford a blaser or sauer but think about it at twice the price are they twice as good

If my Father was on here he would have voted Sauer, and you're spot on. For twice the price you do indeed get twice the quality. The actions are excellent, the build quality is second to none, and once you find the "sweet" spot, ammo wise, they are extremely accurate.

He went through a phase whereby all his guns, bar the shotgun, were Sauer. However with such high price tags, comes a high resale value and alot of people are hesitant to pay new prices for a second hand gun.

I have 2 Steyr cf rifles and think they're great factory rifles. Bu t I voted Sauer as I think they're TRULY great rifles. Friend of mine stalks with a 202 and it just exudes quality and reliability, if I ever change up it'll be to a Sauer

I've never handled a sauer but hear they are great and looks like a few here like them, a blaser was one of my favourite guns that i handled but the fact that it didnt have a detachable magazine put me off, thats a purely personal thing though, i'd still love one though, i havent handled any of the new r8's so cant comment on them although i dont know if i'd be a fan of having the trigger unit built into the magazine.

I love my Sako. I also think Sauer are an incredible rifle. They're accurate, but above all, they handle like nothing else. I have a soft spot for CZ. I think they make a truly excellent gun without a lot of fanfare or fuss, which punches way above its weight, and I think they do interesting things, offering interesting chamberings and really have an ear to the ground for the needs of hunters. I'm waiting for them to offer their 550 standard action in left hand as it's the only one they haven't yet done. I like the Winchester model 70 as well. Feels good, very smooth, very solid.
