I am looking to buy a .22 rifle as my first firearm. I will be using it for hunting rabbits ect. so just looking for suggestions by rifle owners. Iv been trained to use .223 and .308 rifles in the defence forces so competence isnt an issue. 500 euro is my limit.

Well for the money that this guy is wanting you won't go wrong. Includes all you would need to get you shooting and the ammo is cheap to buy.

Its a .22 bruno with a lux stock and is threaded for a mod. it'll come with a swivel harris bipod, sling, 2small and 1 large mag (i think) and a Bushnell banner 6-18x50 scope (great scope that is). I think theres a cleaning kit there aswell.
i gave it an auld rub two weeks ago and made sure everything was in order and all i can say is its like new.......infact ild say its the cleanest one in the country.
€475 and i reckon its a very good price so please dont offer stupid offers, its hard enough having to sell it and its worth every cent.

I have sold 2 and bought 2 guns from people.

Give a deposit just to show that your intent on buying. Get a letter from the seller to show he's selling it to you with all the details of the gun, serial number and present license number.

You apply for your license as normal and when it comes you go get your gun.

    easy peasy

Just as a word of caution there lads.

When buying from a private source make sure to get a copy of their FCA1, trasferring the license to another gun, or their FCA2, canceling the license entirely. It will helps things along and also give the buyer piece of mind knowing that the seller will not still be licensed on the firearm.

Usually i would get a copy of their FCA1/FCA2 but insist they do not submit it until the buyer gets the grant letter. No point in the seller transferring the license or canceling it it the buyer does not get thier license.

Also the seller's license will remain in effect on the firearm for 2 weeks after the transfer to allow for changing of ownership, but in the case of the FCA2 and canceling it is immediate once entered on PULSE.

Its all a matter of timing.
