Beautiful day here in Donegal, but very blustery again. I opened the window and it swang shut with the wind.

Light shower in North Tipp (few miles south of Nenagh) between 11.30 and 12.00.
Remnants of that had completely dried in a stiff SE breeze and hazy sunshine before the next light shower arrived circa 13.30.
    That's cleared now.
The amount of rain in these showers will do nothing for the soil deficit levels.

On the west Donegal coast at the moment, no clouds in the sky again but cant see a thing because of a massive fire which has been burning since yesterday evening, the whole area is covered in thick smoke

Clearly visible here and travelling well out into the Atlantic

Bright and breezy day in both North and West Dublin. Very warm in the sunshine but in exposed areas it felt quite chilly in the strong breeze. Currently still 15c.

Dry, warm and windy but reminiscent of the freezing fog back in December here today, visibility was down to nothing by sunset. Stunning watching the pure red sun setting over the Atlantic but thats obviously little consolation for those being affected.

Good satellite pic of the fires

No rain so far here in North Tipp (few miles south of Nenagh).
It's almost here, judging by the latest radar and those ominous black clouds to my SE. Don't think we're going to get much rain, though.

Back in Letterkenny again today, blue skies and sunshine once again, 3 weeks now since we've had anything more than a brief light shower. Fires still burning out of control in the west unfortunately with several houses destroyed so a bit of rain would be more than welcome

Another dry sunny day in Castlebar with a gusty SE wind.Warm.Still some fires dotted around the place.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,351 ✭✭✭jprboy

Apart from a few drops, no rain so far here in North Tipp (few miles south of Nenagh) and it's now 22.20.
Remakable day here in terms of being very near the northern edge of that rain all day. I could literally look up in a SE direction and to my left blue skies, to my right cloud which was often very dark. Could see very clearly on the radar how close that rain was to us since morning and it's still only a few miles to our south.

big gorse/bog fire few miles up the road  looks like the rain will miss us too....
