Anyone going to the Ballywalter game fair this weekend? We have a stand at it so give us a shout. If not i'll have a review in next months e-zine. Fieldsports.tv is going to be there as well. Should be a fun weekend.

    Anthony

Yes - Ballywalter is in Co Down, out the Ards peninsula from Belfast side of Down or a short trip across Strangford Lough on the ferry if you're coming from the south.
I thought that the Ballywalter Game Fair had jacked in. It was the venue for the BASC Fair for a few years but I was under the impression BASC decided not to continue with it when the fair at Shane's Castle started up a few years ago. That's three fairs in the north this summer - Balywalter, Shane's Castle and Moira. What happened the recession?!

Yap you are right. The people that run shanes castle and birr have taken it over and have ran it for the last two years. By all accounts it is going to be a fun weekend. Shanes Castle is still the biggest from what i hear.

    Taken from their website http://www.ballywaltergamefair.com/

Attendance will be enhanced and improved by a high profile, multi media marketing campaign and some very attractive discounted admission packages including for adults and families their admission to both Fairs (Shanes Castle and Ballywalter) for the price of their normal ticket to Shanes (i.e £10 & £25 respectively). This should help country sports people and their families to enjoy two great days out for the price of one AND ensure that the new Ballywalter Fair contunes to grow rapidly. In fact we are confident that the Ballywalter Game and Country Living Fair in this and future years will only be surpassed in attendance by the other two Great Game Fairs of Ireland at Shanes Castle and Birr Castle.

    Hope this helps.

I'll try to make Shane's Castle. Can't make Ballywalter, I'm in Killarney for the weekend...

Haven't been to a fair since I was a kid; they're meant to be good fun...
