A PIN-UP boy of Sydney's amateur bodybuilding scene has died after apparently suffering a cardiac arrest in Bangkok.

Russian-born Aziz Sergeyevich Shavershian, known as Zyzz, died after being found unconscious in a sauna, a post on his fanpage said yesterday.

The 22-year-old did not compete in bodybuilding competitions but built a strong reputation with tens of thousands of Facebook fans who admired his muscle-flexing and adopted his vision of "getting aesthetic".

Mr Shavershian, who began bodybuilding after completing his HSC to build strength and attract girls, lived in Eastwood in Sydney's northern suburbs and was a personal trainer, aspiring model and part-time stripper.

He also sold a whey protein supplement named Protein of the Gods.

Posts on a Facebook memorial page said Mr Shavershian suffered a cardiac arrest three days ago. His 25-year-old brother Said, who is also a bodybuilder and known as Chestbrah, said he was devastated by the death.




"Would do anything to have you back home safe with me. 22 years old. U were far too young," he wrote on Facebook.

"I F ... miss you sooo much my baby brother, I can't live without you comeback please. Don't do this to me."

Chestbrah was last week fined $400 in Parramatta Local Court for possessing anabolic steroids. Fanpage zzyzcentral.com said the cause and circumstances of Mr Shavershian's death were unknown: "It is a sad day for all of those whose lives Zyzz inspired and motivated. The best way we can cherish his memory is by living life to the fullest, by training hard, getting aesthetic and not taking life too serious."

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed a 22-year-old NSW man died in Thailand.

Extremely decent guy. The whole zyzz brah, u mirin' craic was all an act, a pisstake on how people expect the likes of him to act. Fair enough, he cycled roids to achieve his body. A quick read of his formspring shows his true personality though. He inspired hundreds to get off their asses and get fit, and that was one of his proudest achievements.

Ye but that journalist could be quoting the daily telegraph article, which seems to be the only real article published. Maybe he did die, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was untrue.

When I got to the police station I was told I was suspected of abusing drugs. I could not understand why. I had hardly been in Sweden a few hours and had no history as a drug user. I could not maintain my status as a competitive athlete and professional if I was addicted to narcotics.

The police said that because I was extraordinarily muscular it was likely I had used steroids. They did not allow me to call a lawyer, the US embassy or call my family. Instead they interrogated me and forced me to provide a urine sample and told me the urine tests would be back in 3 weeks.

They asked me to tell them if I had used certain anabolic steroids. I advised them that I take my health seriously and that if they had any official queries, I would authorise my doctor to provide them with a medical report. They did not ask for this. A few hours later, the police let me go without charge. I was not remanded into custody or asked to report to the police station.

Damn, that pretty much 100% confirms it.
I was surprised to hear Amy Winehouse died, although I shouldn't have been, she was living a ****ed up livestyle and that the risk that comes with it. You never expect someone like Zyzz to die so young though. It reminds me of when Marc Vivien Foe just died on the pitch. It just shouldn't happen. :(:(
