Ok guys,

So we all know the last boards league, after week 3 kinda lost its touch, I think this was due to the game was newly out and a lot of people were plaiyng it and have since left. Since now there is the steady group of players who still play and read through this forum I am proposing starting up a new league.

The format yet isnt certain since it all depends on the people signed up.

The requirements I want to put in is this.

1)Games will need to be played in the week.

2)When playing startcraft join the starcraft.ie chat channel.

3)Try and log onto the irc channel #starcraft.ie channel on irc.quakenet.org

4)PM me if:
i)You cant get in contact with the player you are spose to play
ii)If you WIN the match and send me the replays with the score.
iii)If you cant play for that week and need to resecdule

Can we get more bronze players too?! Seeing a lot of Diamond to Masters players and it's scary already. I'll have to switch to Zerg and 6 pool, worker rush everyone!

I would put this down to the players who work at the game and put the time in progressing upwards. Practise is the way to go up. I would guess that we had a few silver players who just got bored an stopped playing.

Then you have the players like me who can only play maybe 5-10 games in a good week, (Didn't get to play at all in February!)I love the game but am stuck in bronze. I just am unable to get a good run of games in. I only get to play when away with work, assuming the connection is good in the hotels I stay in!

Reason for the delay if to get more people to sign up, but also a lot of people are doing exams at the time so might be pushed off it. Signups are doing great so far.

By the look of it i might split up the bronze-gold levels to one bracket and then the plat-masters to the other bracket,

We currently have 8 Bronze-gold level players and 14 Plat-Master level players.


If I can get 2 more plat-master level play I am gonna start putting together the brackets/rules/fixtures for this.

Throwing bronze player in with gold and plat in with masters seems pretty harsh, big jumps in quality. Maybe just cap it off at 24 and have 6 groups of 4 or something?

OR

teams of 2 players, but 1v1 etc. match a master/plat with a silver/bronze or maybe 2 gold players together.

3 points for a win. bo3 matches.

You're forgetting Diamond. There's also a MASSIVE skill difference between Gold and Diamond/Masters so putting them in a similar seed bracket is silly and I don't mean that to be a dick but it's the truth.

How about keeping it simple at 1 league, but with matches weighted depending on who wins?

So a Bronze player beating a Diamond would earn more points than a Diamond playing beating a Bronze, and so on. Some kind of multiplier value per level above you?

Seems like an over-complication. Just have four groups roughly split on rank basis and put the top two in each group through.
