Togetsu-kyo. Rented a bike in the restaurant opposite. Show your passport. come back in the time allowed/agreed. Pay a few bob. Job's a good 'un.

I also visited a Keirin track in Kyoto. Got a wonderful panoramic view of the stadium...will try and get it uploaded...

I wanted to try my roadbike on a dirt track as Im thinking of doing the Grand Canal from Tullamore on it some morning soon so I took it down a fishing clubs track on Lovers Leap Lane yesterday, came to this stunning valley/gorge thing at the end of it that I never knew was there. Pity it had been heavily littered by morons but the river itself was stunning, I spent 10 minutes spiking the litter on a sharp stick as it was honestly one of the nicest places Ive ever come across by accident in Wicklow, all the other places Ive set out deliberately to see:

The scum who littered the gorge were obviously kids judging by the litter so semi-forgivable but unforgiveable imo is the damage the angling club has done to the banks of that lovely river, big twisted metal fences, old broken concrete rebar posts sticking out of the ground and dirty cheap concrete poured anywhere there was a good spot for a fisherman to stand, plastic bags of rubbish thrown in the bushes, they've trashed the place. The gorge is well worth seeing if you've cycled past without knowing its there a million times like me though:

As for the road bike on the dirt track, it was 50/50 on the Gatorskins, at some points fine, at some points losing grip, other times cringing at twigs etc snapping under the tyres. I think Im going to chance it on the canal, I can always hit the roads if the going gets too tough.
