I was really struck by the colour and smell of those yellows around Bellewstown and Ardcath on Monday. My phone camera is crap and didn't have the proper one with me.

Myself and the gf spent a week down on the Bere peninsula in Kerry last week and brought the bikes. The photo doesn't really do justice for just how spectacular the colours are down there...

Is it hard going on the Bere Peninsula? As in are you climbing all the time or is a lot of it flat if you stick to the coasts?

We stuck to the valleys and the coast near Lauragh which are all very flat. Was tempted to tackle the Healy Pass but the weather wasn't brilliant on the other days we were there. There's a great café catering for cyclists in Lauragh if you were planning a pit stop. Here's a Strava track of our leisurely cycle :)

I've often thought I was going to burn out myself on that steep section after the little car park!

Just after Scurlocksleap, looking down on the Liffey & main Blessington-Sally Gap road below. Probably about 1-2 km before it rejoins that road by the Kippure Holiday Village.

It's a lovely quiet road & was re-surfaced last year.

Is that after the military firing range and on straight rather than taking the left to Butter Mountain?

Up at 3-Rock this morning. Shameful gear selection, but in my defence it was pretty early :pac:
