What would be the best type of rear bag to use when im shooting my sako trg 22 with a bipod from the prone position ?
I am using one of those cloth money bags filled with small plastic beads at the moment but wonder is there something more suitable out there.

As its in the Target forum i'm assuming you want it for target work, as in a fixed firing position and not field work.

You would be looking for a Caldwell, Protektor, Shooters Ridge or Edgewood rear bag. anything with a flat timber base that gives you a stable platform to rest the rear of the rifle on.

Have a look at this thread.

Yes I want the bag for target shooting only.
I just wanted to know which bag would work best with the trg with the cut out under the stock.
    Thanks.

Excuse me if i seem like i'm "telling my Granny how to suck eggs", but the butt hook would not be the best place to place the rear bag. It can be used by all means and if you do not place your non firing arm/hand through the butt hook for extra grip/security then it will work there, but you may find follow through to be a problem. The flatter piece of the rear stock ..............

................ would be best suited. The edgewood line of rear bags are great quality and have the all important timber base to give secure, steady placement on the ground. If you do not want to go that route (as they have to be ordered as i do not know anyone that stocks them) you could buy another rear bag and "attach" a timber base. Works a treat.

    Sorry Ezridax.
What I meant to say was, as the flat bit of the stock is only about 3in long
before the cut out starts is there any particular model more suited to my rifle.
I was just looking at them on the sinclair webpage and there is a lot to choose from.
I wouldnt mind paying a bit extra for the right one.

The Edgewood Minigator would be a good choice. It is 6 inches (or so) long and has a very gently incline meaning you can move the rifle back and forth and gain a bit of elevation while not coming completely off your target.

Its rabbits ears are slightly spaced meaning the stock of the TRG (as with an AICS) with it 1/2" runner will fit nicely, be well held, but not inclined to twist.
