Should Ireland consider taking in some troubled Japanese families.?

With the dire situation out in Japan, contamination concerns possibly for decades, quake and tsunami devastated villages and towns that people will never want to see again.

Meanwhile in Ireland there are thousands of vacant houses lying idle all over the country that could be put to good rather than be demolished.

THe Japanese are perhaps the most genuine and industrious people on earth and I couldn't see them as a any burden on this country whatsoever, If anything they would benefit this state in showing the people here on how to get off their arses.

    I wouldn't see a problem with this.

You know what thats an excellent idea. They could teach us a thing or two about how to live also.

They'll be even more troubled if they come here.

I doubt they would want to move to Ireland

I wouldn't see a problem with it either but tbh, they're more likely to rebuild and get back to normality before we could accommodate them!

    I'd welcome them.

I'd say they'd be more inclined to take in some troubled Irish construction workers to help with the rebuilding.

Yeah they'd have their country rebuilt before our county councils could organise a meeting to discuss the matter.

For christ sake guys, I wish people would stop going on about Japan like its some back end of nowhere **** country that can't mind itself. Its one of the biggest economies on earth, it can solve its own problems without little old Ireland coming to the rescue.

Maybe once we clear the social housing list and get people off rent allowance

I wonder how far the amount of money poured into our zombie banks would go towards rebuilding after the earthquakes/ tsumanis?

Japan is a major economic power, they hardly need the help of a country that's struggling to stay afloat. Why would any Japanese person decide to move almost to the other side of the planet to a country with serious economic problems?

    Earthquakes
    Tsunami's
    Nuclear meltdowns.

    Take your pick ;)

How about an exchange, we'll take some of their cute petite wimmin folk off their hands and we can send over a generous supply of pig ugly colleens to help with the reconstruction and heavy lifting.

Could be funny like the Black family in Curb.

    Let's see:

You lose your family, your home and all your worldly possessions.

And then, when you think it can't possibly get any worse, you end up in a ghost estate in Leitrim, thousands of miles away from your homeland and where the inhabitants barely speak English let alone Japanese.

This whole idea is genuinely one of the most depressing things I can think of.

If the cnuts won't sell it at a reduced price to the Irish, I can hardly see them giving the houses for free to the Japanese.

already taken in japanese. students; who were only troubled by adolescence but it could only benefit us, rather than them i think.

    they'll survive

Pile them in if they want to come - sure they're only small.

But hang on, if we did that, and then say there was a natural disaster in some obscure African country (God/Buddha/Tom Cruise forbid), then we would have to make the same offer to them fellas too - or we would be accused.

Not so many takers then I'll wager. That's because the Japs are westernised, like us. - sure they could almost be in the Eurovision song contest.

    ;)

I was intending to use satire to highlight a latent but inherent racist attitude in western society.
    But now you've spoiled it.

I was thinking this a few days ago, I reckon they'd be more than welcome, loads of empty houses all over the country. In fairness though unless the nuclear thing goes badly I reckon they'd sooner stay in Japan.

Or we could send the gob****es in exchange for some well educated, industrious folk who would be more beneficial to us in the long run?

Countries are not immune from natural disasters no matter how rich they are. Japan is fairly well ****ed at this stage to be honest

Send them a link to unitedpeople.ie and show them the abuse and exploitation that has been thrown upon us and let them know that not one FF politician will be locked up for selling the irish people to the banks. Also let them know that bankers and developers have been awarded for ruining ireland while we pick their bills. Also let them know that bertie ahern spent 220,000 euro of taxpayers money - approximately half of a celtic tiger mortgage - doing up his office. Let them know that the catholic church once ruled ireland and while in power dirty priests raped boys up their bums and were allowed to walk away free. I think the japanese will gladly and happily remain where they are.

To say that that tsunami hit the wrong country would be an understatement. Here is hoping Lisbon quakes soon and sends us that tsunami we're promised. Alternatively we could drop cowen into the ocean. his fat arse would surely cause tsunami for us and wipe this country out of all things toxic.

Don't bother sending a link to that site.
We're still waiting for an update to this thread in the Louth forum

Even FF candidates backed out with grace, not ignored everyone and pretend they were not looking for support

If the Louth forum cannot be updated I don't think it's possible to add a new story to the site

I'd have no problem with the Japanese over here, I would however have a large problem with letting any Irish go over there to re-build anything, chances are another Earthquake will strike again, houses built here by the same cowboys have been known to collapse without any Earthquake, now add Irish engineers and typical Irish shoddy construction to an Earthquake zone and disaster will follow.

I'd have no problem relocating the likes of Bertie Ahern to their most contaminated zone, we could send him in as a human guinea pig to see what the situation was, or Brian Cowen to plug the hole in the reactor.

Wouldn't be unreasonable to to extend an open offer to take in a certain number of people, if it's needed and people wished to avail of it.
We could also extend a similar offer to take in some of those made homeless by the earthquake in Haiti in the not-to-distant pass, who are still living in makeshift camps.

Unitedpeople.ie contains information on how crooked FF - our ex political masters were. That site will be needed forever more espically before general elections to remind people of the abuse FF did to our nation. Unless of course you enjoy such abuse and exploitation and wish someday that they will rule us again.

Nah. I think Ilovesleep is generally acknowledged as the undisputed champion in that regard. :D
Having said that, i sometimes agree with the general tenor of his/her posts.

We weren't technically involved, but if you want to put it it that way, what about the nukes that were dropped on them?
