I took this short footage at Dublin zoo yesterday. The pack of Grey Wolves started howling which was wonderful to see and hear. The footage was taken through a wire fence, and it sounds a bit crackly too, so please excuse the quality.

Edit: If you click on the Youtube icon in the bottom right hand corner of this clip, you should see better quality footage.

I'd hazard a guess it's Lough Ennell near Mullingar, and around an hour before dusk would be the time to get there!

Yes, Lough Ennell. I was at the North end of the lake, very far from the murmuration and could not see it without binoculars. I would try further South next time.

Man and Dad swan at the very back letting the young do all the work....they all seemed very happy with this new adventure and were moving through the lake quite fast

It definitely looks a lot greyer than your average Pied Wagtail, and it does appear to have a slight buff-yellow colouring behind the legs and under the tail, so it could be a hybrid. I've never seen a Pied-Grey hybrid before, so I'm no expert.

I'll very happily bow to Niall on something like this. If he thinks it's a hybrid that's definitely where I'd be putting my money! Looking forward to seeing the results of the DNA analysis!
