    Roedale are very light ~ 2/3's weight of ASE in Similar size

    The ase S5 would make your barrel 26"

    My VTR is 24" with the Mod on Nice :D

    The more baffles the quieter the mod, the T8 although the cheapest was the quietest on the .308

    I'll wait on till the dust settles.

    I'll bring my ASE Northstar in 30 cal and 5/8" x unf thread.

    I have a noise/sound meter somewhere as well.

    Here are a few mods and average prices. They do depend on where you buy them obviously.

    Ase Utra S7/Jet-Z = €380

    T8 = €265

    Wildcat Predator = €295

    I cannot see you getting a NEW mod for less than €270, but there are a few secondhand ones to be gotten at the right price.

    Personally i have all three of the above and find the Wildcat the better of them. It does not have the "tinny" feel of sound resonance of the T8 and is not as heavy as the Ase. Plus you can buy inners for the Wildcat that allows you to swap a .30 cal mod to .223 cal mod by buying and changing out the inners. It means 1 mod for multiple caliber rifles.
    • The wildcat was used on a .223, but going by the performance i cannot see any drop in effectiveness on a .308.
    • My Ase was on my .308. Very quiet, but did add that bit extra weight to the end of the barrel and with the bipod, etc made her slightly "nose heavy".
    • The T8 was used on my 30-06, and was as quiet as the other two, but there was a resonance when the rifle was fired, and as said above a "tinny" feel. That and the "rusting" problem suffered by T8s would be enough for me to stay away from them in the future.

    Does that mean we will be going for a few bunnies after? I have a small permission ~40 acres fairly close to teh range that USED to be alive with bunnies.
    I have not shot it since last August
