Anybody on this site know of a gunsmith that carries out top quality work on restoring guns? Re-bluing, clean up the receiver and the stock..

Help would be greatly appreciated as I want to tidy up my gun.

I'm hoping one of the other lads can fill in the blanks, but there is a lad in Wexford (i think). Pat/Gerry. Dealsd with shotguns, restorations, etc.

I'll see if i can find the exact details.

EDIT - Ardee Sports have a gunsmith that deals with repairs, but as to restoration........... ?????

I would put up a few pictures if I could find the cable for the camera of what I want sorted out.

Wondering if a few small scratches on the stock and a little chip taken out of the receiver and re blue the barrels. Not asking for much I know

There was another thread about gun stock makers and repairs: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055755897&highlight=stocks
This may be of some help to you. Don't have any experience on this myself, but it seems from this other thread that there are a couple of options open to you to get the work done.
but there is a lad in Wexford (i think). Pat/Gerry.

I think the lad in Wexford is Pat Sludds, and the other fellow is Gerry Gearn (sp?) - both their numbers are mentioned in the other earlier thread.

    Hope that helps. dC

You could try Walter Blacklaw in south Wexford. He served his time to Elderkins and Border Barrels.

Thats him. Couldn't find the thread.

Never used him, but heard good things about him.
