Through every nook and every cranny
The wind blew in on poor old Granny
Around her knees, into each ear
(And up nose as well, I fear)

All through the night the wind grew worse
It nearly made the vicar curse
The top had fallen off the steeple
Just missing him (and other people)

It blew on man, it blew on beast
It blew on nun, it blew on priest
It blew the wig off Auntie Fanny-
But most of all, it blew on Granny!

    Not me...Spike Milligan :)

Chucken's going to be a Granny

At 38 there can't be many

Young wans like her on this Earth

Who's children now are giving birth

Alas this ode is short and sweet

(So short and sweet and soon complete)

That it behoves a toast to call

"Congrats to Chucken", from us all.

    Goodnight and Good Moaning :)

Hope this squealing is not misconstrued as artistic jealousy :D But rules are rules :p

Ah I think the nun on her own is okay - tis only when it's nun that the problem (and the ban hammer) arises.

Are you not on holidays mr OG?
Surely a mod cannot use his powers of retribution whilst on vacation?

In cicero's defence I believe the offending words were not used in the normal context therefore are in admissible (Lordy I can't spell) to the court of the Goat?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,633 ✭✭✭✭OldGoat

Mods don't get vacatioins. We are a dedicated hard working diligent bunch with a coke and hooker fixation.

While driving home this evening, HSH's car was struck by a falling tree. She's fine but very lucky. Car's roof, boot, back door and nearside back panel took a hit and of course glass all over the place. Tried to upload snapfish pics without success. You think that this would be the last thing that could happen to anyone. There was wind and the earth was sodden after three days of rain. She saw it coming down and floored it so the roof over the back seat was the point of impact. This was about a half a mile from home.

    Goodnight and Good Moaning :)

Oh Spread she/you must have got an awful fright. Fair dues to HSH putting the foot to the metal!

Delighted to hear she is okay Spread - she must have got some fright.

Away now for a few days - my niece is receiving her First Holy Communion on Saturday down the country.

Thank God she's ok Spread. Her quick thinking obviously saved her. Doesn't bear thinking about but thankfully the car took the hit.

Thanks folks! The AutoBody shop quotes $7.5K for doing it and will take about a month ........... getting in parts etc. Insurance OK'd it and gave her a Ford Fusion for the duration.

Anyone up early? Please say a prayer for QPR.

    Goodnight and Good Moaning :)

That was a whole ordeal Spread. This forum doesn't half get its share of exciting adventures. Hope Mrs. Spread doing OK now.:)

As for prayers for QPR, I think you'll find some objections from certain mods to that request. I got dogs abuse when I opened this thread and spelt god with a capital G . :p

Went to BBC Football only to find that matches are tomorrow. So please folks .......... (just in case ye are afraid of non believing Mod) a Novena to Dionysus ......... and if results go right will buy anyone who claims to have participated a few snifters at a salubrious watering hole in Dublin/Kerry/London in late Autumn.

Didn't know there was separation of church and boards :D
