Someone asked me the other day what was my fave song... God, talk about a hard question... :)

When I thought about it, Robbie Williams 'Angels' stuck out.

A year or so after it came out, I had a dance to it with the biggest love of my life at a concert 'The Conquerors' were giving... Ok, ok, not Robbie Williams singing, but to this day, when I hear that song, I am instantly taken back to that night... ;)

    What are your faves ladies?

Takes me back to when my boyfriend and I were living at opposite ends of the country, getting the train to see each other about once or twice a month. My heart would be like a jackhammer in my chest watching him get off the train and then get back on it a few days later.

Heard this the other day on the radio. Have to admit it's been ages since I heard it but the childhood started flooding back. Well teenage hood.

I've posted this somewhere on tLL before. The main one would be Simple Plans - I Can Wait Forever, when I met an ex he was living in the UK and we'd get to see each other often enough, a couple of months later his work moved him back to Norway where he was from and put 1000 miles between us, I was still in college at the time this put a massive stumbling block in the way and only he'd be able to get to see me. Anyway, this was our song, I think I listened to this about a million times a day and he used to text me lyrics to it randomly all the time. Unfortunately, just over two years ago, I realised I couldn't wait anymore, I still listen to this song all the time, always reminds me that there are some really incredible guys out there and one day I'll find someone like him again. :)

He also discovered this one of the same name, but it doesn't tell me I'm beautiful so that wasn't as much fun! :pac:

Anything by Sum41 general teeny angsty broken hearts and all that jazz.

Smashing Pumpkins - Soma (general sadness over a boy still a favourite)

Smashing Pumpkins - Today/zero (general angsty teen songs! Very "cliche" SP songs!)

Pink Floyd - Wish you were here (LDR :( )

Ash - Candy (break up of LDR)

Artic Monkeys - Fluorescent adolescent (same as above)

Muse - Feeling good (getting over LDR)

Hard Fi - Suburban Knights, (first ****buddy song :D)

Metallica - Nothing else matters/enter sandman/st anger (the songs that I kind of know) (Now boyfriend, loves metallica, even thought I wind him up saying that I hate them!!:P)

i was watching Glee on c4 on a sunday morning the other week and they were doing the rocky horror show - and ended with the timewarp. i dont think ive ever seen the rocky horror show but timewarp is such an 80's song and i was an 80's baby. i remember dancing in my grannies back garden in the summers with my cousins - dressed up in our aunts VERY 80's clothes, shoes, jewellery, bit of OTT makeup - to the timewarp.

    now that takes me back

    timewarp!

    This part of the song....
I believe in the sand beneath my toes,
    The beach gives a feeling,
    An earthy feeling,
I believe in the faith that grows,
And the four right chords can make me cry,
When I'm with you I feel like I could die.
And that would be all right, all right....

just instantly brings me back to being on a night out, in the arms of the guy I loved as he sang them in my ear...close on ten years ago now, but I still smile at the memories.... ahh the first love :)

I was 5 when this came out originally but being a bit of a raver throughout the years have heard it probably about one million times, always brings back good party memories.

The whole of Oasis' "Whats the Story, Morning Glory" album takes me back to the mid 90's when my mam and 2 sisters were living in a shiiity house literally in the middle of nowhere while our house was being built.
Because I was a cool 5 year old..(give or take)

And this for some reason takes me somewhere...like space!
    "spaaaaaaaaaaaceman!"

Oh my God! That takes me back to circa 1995, Xmas time, teenage disco, snowing that night, kissing the love of my life (which lasted about 6 months, before I kissed his brother!:p).

I couldn't possibly choose my favourite, but these remind me of special places and people.

Spent every evening after being out clubbing listening to this album for the whole summer...but this was my fave track:

and this...which was always part of my "getting ready to go out" routing, even now listening to it makes me want to pour a drink and plug the hair straighteners in!

Ah this takes me back to when my daughter was born in 1989. When I first held her in my arms, I started to hum this tune. It is an absolute treasured memory. I can't help smiling when I hear this. Happy memories :)

This really nice song, takes me back to my school days when one of my classmates brought in a record player ( ah yes the days before cd players and cd's!) and she also brought Neil Diamonds latest album and one of the songs I remember from that day was this. The good old days!

This song is important to me and still is. Before we ever went out, he used to call me his goodnight girl, as we always chatted way into the wee hours and I would say good night to him, and he would say good night girl. And I told him I liked that song. The next day he heard it on the radio while driving to work. He told me that night and he then called me his goodnight girl and that the song was for me. He was very special to me.

This one reminds me of listening to Atlantic 252 on an old battery radio out in the field at home:

This one reminds me of a boy I was mad about:

This one reminds me of a really, really bad, lonely, self-destructive time in my life:

And this one reminds me of the first time I met my lovely other half:

Sorry for so many vids in the one post! Whitesnake - Here I go Again, Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy, No Doubt - Don't Speak, Waterboys - Fisherman's Blues, Jon Secada - Just Another Day & The Alanis Jagged Little Pill album all remind me of stuff too, some good but some just take me right back to a horrible time, I was a bit angsty for a while!!

This reminds me of when I first got into rock and metal.

This reminds me of a really turbulent time when I was around 16.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rQz0xGaTCE

Probably my favourite Korn song. I always listen to it when I feel ****. It's my therapy song.

There are loads of others but I'd be posting all night if I uploaded them. :P

This song takes me back to when me and my ex were breaking up and he was pretty much ignoring me, and the few months after where we tried to be friends and I felt like he was completely unrecognisable as the person I fell for :(

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now - (Anytime I've experienced hard times in my life this song has always giving me the motivation to keep me going :D)

MCR - Black Parade - (This reminds me of my mother dealing with the death of her brother, she would play this non stop for weeks afterwards)

Dream Theater - Spirit Carries On - (This reminds me of when my uncle passed away suddenly two years ago. He was only in his 30's :( I used to play this a lot.)

Greenday - Macy's day Parade - (My sister and I had this song on constantly after my nanny died)

Embrace - Gravity - (This takes me back to my bestfriend who isn't here anymore :( I still get tears the odd time when I listen to it.)

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend - (Getting with my boyfriend ;))

OOoooh you're a right bunch of rockers you lot!

    Songs that take me back:

Our House - Madness (My oldest brother's favourite band when I was a kid in the 80s....he played them constantly)

The Beautiful South - Song for Whoever (first band I saw live when I was 12 in 1992 and first album I bought was Welcome to the Beautiful South and I was only 9!)

Atlantic Ocean - Atlantic Ocean (Reminds of the brilliant dance that came from the 90s and dancing away and canoodling with boys at under 18s discos)

Blur - Parklife (I hated Oasis and choppped all my hair off to look like Justine Frischman from Elastica....Damon Albarn's girlfriend....hoping he'd notice me one day)

Manic Street Preachers - Yes (From The Holy Bible....I was getting a hard time at school at that time and things were crap at home...it helped me release all my teenage angst)

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - Patio Song (From my all time favourite band. I heard them first on No Disco when I was about 16).

Arcade Fire - Ready To Start (I think this song is just phenomenal and I'm still not sick of it)

Super Trouper (ABBA) - memories of dad driving us down Patrick's Hill in Cork to see the Christmas lights on Patrick's Street - I think it was the parents first car with a tape player..........

Missing (EBTG) - party song from the mid-90's - brilliant memories of clubbing with the girlies from college

Radio (The Corrs - Unplugged) - just loved that song, always reminds me of an ex boyfriend (it was out when we were together) - relationship ended badly, but I always smile and think fondly of him when I hear this song

Bootylicious (Destiny's Child) - more clubbing memories with my buddy, her boyfriend came with us one night and told us that the guys in the club were afraid to approach us cos of the 'zone of terror' we created when we were busy dancing baby - as in 'no guys may come between us'!!!

I must have listened to this song about 60 trillion times in third year.

Then this was second year when all my friends bought pink tutus and became very, very scene!! :P

And as we're on Slipknot and such, this was like my favorite song back in 2006 kind of time :D
