Depends who I'm playing with. If it's with mates from UK, then it's 3 bar normally, with sometimes 2 bar.
If it's with mates from the US, then pretty much always 2 bar, with occasional 3.
If it's with Boards guys, then 3 bar normally with sometimes 4 bar.
If it's Shammy hosting, it seems to be 4 bar.

    • 3 bar in BOPS, unless I'm playing with Balfie :pac: Otherwise it does fluctuate in game a good bit. Not as bad as Lee though :P
    • Eircom
    • Wicklow aka The Twilight Zone(North West) to be more specific, small radius where nobody can get above 3MB and thus no UPC!)

    Mostly 3 bars, occasionally 4.
    Perlico (Vodafone ?)
    Dublin, Santry

4 bar (95% of the time)
    Magnet LLU
    Dublin

More often 4 bar than not though sometimes get 3 bar. Always 4 bar when playing with Boardies as one of us is normally host.

UPC in Limerick. Oddly enough I did the speedtest and I get higher speeds and less ping to the server in Dublin than in Limerick.

Can't unfortunately. We have inquired about UPC numerous times but it cannot be provided out here

The rest like Perlico and Digiweb, well tbh I haven't looked into. Vodafone is pointless obviously.

Has anyone switched from Eircom to Vodafone broadband through the landline? I'd be delighted from some feedback from XBOX gamers (as its the only reason I have broadband at home!)

I'm switching to UPC very soon. My contract is up at the end of this month, thank fuck!

Would be interested to know what's the best for gaming/poker.

I've vodafone at home broadband with landline.

I think it's very good tbh for the price. Can't complain. If i was in Dublin i'd be on four bar but unfortunately i'm not.

Was for the last few months using the meteor dongle and would generally get 3-4 bars in dublin. Then last week got upc 30mg. Usually get 5 bars for Bops. Noticed the difference a lot more with fifa though. The connection is so much better. :)

I'm on UPC and get same results: don't use the Limerick server. Use Galway (or Dublin like you did).

Haha, I actually thought it was five. Never really noticed

3 bars and with rare exception/excellent host 5, yes 5, only noticed it about 3 times mind you but still.

it can get really get annoying in wager matchs against 5 bars. when you run into a room shoot somone, die a split second later and then the kill cam shows you just running in.....grrr one in the chamer can be a bitch somtimes.

5 bar most of the time with UPC 30 mb in cork, three bar otherwise. Usually all but 1/2 have a 5 bar when I get host (hence why my friends insist on waiting for me before they join a game :L)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,211 ✭✭✭celtic723

    There's only 1-4 bar connections. 5 bar doesn't exist.

There are 5 bars on the thing, I've seen people running around with a 1 bar, well, teleporting around. Full bars there are 5 columns, 5 bars. Quite clearly. Don't know why ye don't count the first one. :L
