Just thought i'd set this up as i think it'll be interesting to get feedback from different people.

Post up the bar connection you generally get in a game, and who your ISP is.

Post your area as well so it gives a rough indication of where you are.

It's so infuriating when you lay into a guy and because he has a four bar connection he can magically turn around and kill you in a second.

    3 bar at best
    Vodafone
    Kildare

4 bar with the exception of a upc host which is rare.
Munster broadband , available in clare , limerick , cork , tipp , dublin and i'm assuming other places . (a different name outside munster)

Surely the best connection i've ever had due to low ping and a solid 2 meg upload, not to mention they are peered with nearly every provider in Ireland (with the exception of upc as their peering policy sucks balls)

3 bar usually. Always have to laugh at these americans complaining about a 3bar, that seems to be the standard here. I'm with eircom, in cork. Wanna switch.

It's the many sheep in the bedroom causing static to build up, strengthening the connection lol

3-4 when playing Irish-British-French people late in the evening or night time.

3 when playing American's in the early morning time. 2 at times when playing people from the west coast.

On UPC in Cork. Damn good connection usually. :) Happy with it.

Im the same UPC 30 meg, that locale search is dead handy aswell I never run into yanks! Its poetry when I host:D In saying that when I host sometimes I notice everyone freezes for 5 seconds like I have a lag switch and I hear people moaning about lag on d mic during it, doesnt happen too often though. Sometimes I get a red bar and viscious lag for for a few seconds when everyone else is perfect, think my line is abit unsteady, never happened with eircom infairness though I rarely got host with them..just constant sh!te ping and speeds with Eircom:rolleyes:

are you sure you where ? 4 bars the other night on the scoreboard on my screen . like solid connection for a lot of the game . i only noticed because your whole team was 4 and we all had 3 bar for that first game . or do you just get the occasional game where its 4 bar ?

anyway mines usually 4 bar unless shammy and the broadband company he clearly gets paid by are hosting
im with upc and im in dublin

3 Bar normally. But it's very inconsistent..... will often drop to 2 in a game, occasionally be up to 4.
The ping is my big problem, which I have never seen below 40ms and is quite often over 80ms.

I use the xbox wireless. I'm pretty sure the above would improve if I wired it up, but it's damn awkward and I haven't gotten around to it yet

EDIT: Forgot to mention, it's the Vodafone 8mb connection in Cork

    3/4 bar - with Errorcom - Drogheda.

On a side note, I received a note in the door from them, which informed me that they were upping the connection fee per call, and also taking the piss liberty of rounding up any calls to the nearest cent! On the other side of the note was a schpeal about NGB, so I availed of the opportunity to ring them, to acknowledge they were gonna take more money from me and asked when perchance I was going to be updated to the 21st freakin century... which I'd been promised since last Summer. I was told "not before November" Cucking Funts!

I would prefer an ISP through the landline but UPC are not in the Estate - any alteratives? Vodafone?
