I used to have something similar before the new system, but not since.

Did you apply for it with the rifle?
Was it a seperate application after you got the rifle license?

Must check out the regulations because i thought under the new system if the mod was applied for and granted then it lasted the duration of the rifle license. I know the mod is classed as a firearm in its own right, so maybe there is something to that?

So you applied for the mod with the rifle and were granted the mod and the rifle license.

Out of curiosity i presume the license does ot have the "S" in the corner?

    Worth checking out.

My friend is in the same boat. He ticked the box for a mod when applying and got the s on his license, but got a letter with them saying he would have to re apply for the mod next year.

Yea, same here. Got Rifle licence with S in the corner and got permission to have Moderator for 3 months up to last Oct. Have already had to apply to keep Mod and got permission for another year 'till Oct 2011!

I will try and clarify this ASAP, but if your license has the "S" then it lasts for the duration of the license so re-applying every year is not necessary.

DO NOT take this as gospel, and as said i will and try verify.

if you have to re apply every year for your moderator is it just a matter of feeling out paper work and not paying €80 everytime?. is some people geting the moderator for the duration of the licence and some only for a period time granted by the superintendent?

Both my "S" are for the length of each licence (each licence different expiry dates )

my license came it has the s on it,and 500rds so not to bad i asked for a 1000

@ace86 As I said earlier I've already had to reapply to keep my Mod for another year. I just handed a typed letter into Super and it didn't cost anything extra! Dave

have the "s" on 1 licence and super forgot it on the other so gave me a letter for 3 years until next 1 comes around and send in copy of the letter, and he will amend it...
