This isnt a barn find in the true sense, but I went to look at this 8 or 9 years ago when I was chasing Mk2 Jaguars. It hadnt seen the light of day for 25+ years. Although it was only a 2.4 it came with a spare 3.8 engine.
I didnt buy it, it wasnt worth the asking price but it was super straight, totally original and had very little rust.

The base models were horrible though, plastic seats instead of leather, real poverty spec compared to the 3.8 or 3.4 even.

Ah I found them charming enough. There wouldnt have been a whole bunch of difference, they all had leather until late '66 when they went to Ambla it became an optional extra on the 240 and 340.

??? Not sure where you base that on, because all the 240's I have seen had almost the exact same interior as the 3.4 and 3.8: walnut dash, leather seats, carpets etc etc... It was only the engine which in my mind made it a less desireable car, because the heavy cars felts quite underpowered with the 2.4 lump, but flipside was that it was as tough as boots!

I posted this before, but this Irish reg's 1970 Rover P5b was in a garage since 1978, one owner car.

I made a half hearted bid as I needed the money for something else and I didn't think the owner was that pushed about selling it........next thing I know its sold and gone and repainted !

I have a 1972 Rover P5b saloon that could be called a barn find! one owner from new and only done 26000mls!have it ten years now
and previous owner always had it garaged, although car was in Ireland
its not an irish reg which is a pity, will put up some pics later.
