Its a God awful disgrace that this is allowed to happen.

Also 400 in a pack ?????? I highly doubt that. Sensationalism to justify the amount that will be killed. Watch this space. 400 pelts will be returned, but "somehow" about 1,000+ wolves will disappear.

would you have ever said the same, when lads were getting bountys for foxes, and 15 or 20 punts here in ireland for fox pelts back in the good old days, dont see much differance myself.

Considering the Fox population of Ireland alone equals or exceeds the WORLDWIDE Wolf population then the comparison carries no weight. One is a protected species (in most countries0 the other considered vermin (in most countries).

Far be it for me to be the one that does the job of those that would oppose hunting, but even as a hunter myself there are still forms of "hunting" that i simply do not agree with. No-one will change my mind about them and i really would appreciate it if i could simply post my dislike of this without dragging the thread into a breach of the forum rules.

well it's their country their wolves and their livestock that is getting eaten therefore in my opinion it's up to them what they do with the situation
from the looks of that article it's a tough place to live and make a living some i'm sure the loss of some of that livestock has much more effect on them than a farmer losing one or two here

Lads, while it is certainly interesting that the local area could support a population of 400 wolves (yeah bloody right daily fail) this is kinda outside the remit of the hunting forum and is going down the ethical debate on hunting route so I'll close it. The link is there for everyone to read and form their own opinion.
