    Hi all,

Clan Wars Promotions are proud to announce we will be holding Clan Wars 7 at the Ulster Hall in Belfast on Saturday the 28th of May 2011!

After the huge demand of bringing Clan Wars to Belfast City we have got an exclusive contract agreed with the Ulster Hall Belfast!

Clan Wars have worked extremely hard to bring Irish MMA to the forefront and professionally promote the sport, together with the ISKA Clan Wars have the full sanctioning and backing to be the first MMA event to be approved by the Ulster Hall!

I have been spending months if not over a year behind the scenes in meetings, collecting official paper work a mile long and recieving full backing from Doctors, Ministers, PSNI,Solicitors and council members supporting the Clan Wars show and what we are trying to achieve.

The Ulster Hall is the prime location in Belfast's City Centre for Clan Wars with its famous past Boxing events - the Ulster Hall is known for its roof lifting atmosphere which is perfect for the fantastic fight card that will be lined up for the 28th of May 2011.

Every seat in the Ulster Hall will have the perfect view from every angle into the octagon making this the most assessible and best venue yet for Clan Wars!

There are also bus and train stations close by.

The fight card will be released soon and will have some awesome fights lined up including International fights, Title shots and title defenses.

Standard tickets will be available next week from the Ulster Hall Box Office 028 9033 4455 and priced at £28

There are only limited tickets for this event so there will be no time to delay for one the the best MMA shows in 2011!!

FIGHT CARD WILL BE RELEASED SHORTLY

FIGHT CARD SO FAR (SUBJECT TO CHANGES)

MAIN EVENT – ISKA LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE DEFENSE

Peter ‘Slam’ Duncan (Chum Sut) v Hugh ‘The Quiet Man’ Brady (PHK)

What a main event! These two warriors have proved their worth time and time again. Brady is coming off an impressive victory at Cage Wars and has stepped up to challenge Duncan for the ISKA Title. Peter fought hard to claim the title last year and has no intention of giving it up – this is going to be a war!!

Co Main Event Welterweight ISKA Championship Match

Ronan 'Pay for Gay' Mc Kay (EFR) v Chris ‘The Bad Man’ Mc Donald (Team Dungeon)

After Mike Reid dropping down to the light weight division the welterweight ISKA Irish title is now back up for grabs and what two better fighters to battle it out than Irelands top ranked Welterweight fighter (fight.ie) and MMA veteran Ronan Mc Kay from EFR versus the Caribbean Middleweight Champion Chris ‘The Badman’ Mc Donald from team Dungeon. Ronan has been battling all round Ireland and the UK for years and is one of the most active welterweights in the country to date; he always brings the fight and leaves it all in the cage! Chris Mc Donald originally from Bangor has been living in Jamaica and tearing it up on the MMA circuit over there winning the Caribbean Middleweight belt, he has recently fought on Cage Wars and won by spectacular knock out, he is excited about getting the chance to fight back in Belfast and is looking to take the belt back to Jamaica! Awesome match up!

    Northern Ireland ISKA Title 84kg

Tim Mc Crory (Kyoujin) v Paul Moore (IFS)

This was one of the first fights arranged last year and will be another contender for fight of the night! Tim is an experienced MMA fighter with an arsenal of tools at his disposal, Paul Moore is ravenous for this fight and is eager to get back into the octagon to show off his skills. Both guys will have huge support for this fight so expect the roof to lift off – this title fight will produce fireworks!!

    Pro 70kg

Mark Uprichard (Tai Jutsu) v Mike Reid (Gracie Barra)

Well this fight will need no build up, for all the Irish MMA and Clan Wars fans you will know these 2 names and what they are capable off! Both these guys come to please the crowd with explosive fights – each holds the power for knock outs in either hand. If this goes the distance I will be very surprised! We predict a stand up war, who will be the victor??? Who knows………only time will tell!! Don’t blink!

    Pro 77kg

Henry ‘Hurculeez’ Fadipe (Lucan MMA) v Dwayne Hinds (Team Dungeon)

Just when you think the card can’t get any better the Clan Wars team have pulled another fantastic match up from the hat! Lucan MMA sensation Henry ‘Hurculeez’ Fadipe has been smashing his way through his opponents and has been deemed the next big thing in Irish MMA only aged 19!. Henry has kicks from Hell and excellent punching power, his last two fights on Clan Wars got a standing ovation – make no doubt about it this guy comes to impress and is a crowd pleaser! His opponent Dwayne Hinds is a top fighter hailing from Trinidad and fighting out of Team Dungeon, he is the Caribbean Welterweight Champion and is coming to make a statement against Henry Fadipe! Who would like to call this fight!?!

MORE EXCITING FIGHTS TO BE CONFIRMED SOON!

THIS IS GOING TO BE OUTSTANDING!! WE TOLD YOU THAT YOU SHOULD BOOK YOUR TICKETS ASAP!! :)

just wondering is this fight still going to go ahead because as far as im aware doesnt clan wars have a 30 days clause that you can't fight anywhere else 30days before hand, and decky dalton is now fighting just 28days before on cage contender, so does this main that this fight is going to have to be pulled or will you'es just bend the rules? It will be interesting to see if they stick to there rules and inforce them!!

Off course we are going to inforce the rules Mal, it's not something that is put there to be awkward, they are there for the fighters safety. People don't understand we don't make the rules, the ISKA do and if we don't follow their rules then we wouldn't be sanctioned.

Also Decky is still fighting on Clan Wars confirmed this morning.

99% of people know there's a 30 day period where people can't fight between events so like everything else it will be put in black and White from now on so everyone knows so everyone is crystal clear. Again it's for the fighters well being not to be awkward.

Thanks for clearing that up. How many does the Ulster Hall hold, I imagine that a lot of the ground floor will be taken up by the cage?

It's gonna' be a sell out.

This is going to be very intresting to see how this pans out because what happens here is going to set the precedent for all other clan wars events because if the rule is changed fir 1 it's going to have to be changed for others, I hope it gets resolved but not at the cost of losing principle. As you guys said it all about fighter safety and no matter how good a fight will be rules are rules

Fear not mmmm...not sure - we wont change the rules for anyone,we aim to run a professional show for fans and fighters a like. Your 100% right fighter safety is paramount and shall not be jepardised at any cost - same way we were put under pressure to start the show again at Clan Wars 6 when the Ambulance had to leave, we would not start it again until we had an ambulance present which meant bringing another ambulance out from the station.

Those who know how we run things know we run things tight and do not break rules no matter how handy it would be - every single thing we do gets / needs approval from the ISKA who run many shows across the globe. The rules are there for the fighters safety and quality of the show so we are more than happy to enforce them to run a professional show.

PCCB have confirmed Decky will not be fighting in Cage Contender due the the 30 day ruling and is really looking forward to fighting Andy at Clan Wars.

The Fight was double confirmed by PCCB and Tai Jutsu last night with both Decky and Andy truely pumped to get into the octagon to do business.

have decky andy andy signed contracts??? this is one thing that needs to be introduced to ensure that fighters do not pull out of fights a week before without a signed medical note or some sort! to ensure legitimate reason for pulling! it is highly frustrating. im not saying, by any means, that fighters are pulling out due to lack of confidence rather than injury but just to make things a bit clearer.. clan wars gona be good show indeed

    Hi DamoUp,

Both the french and Marks management do not like the new gnp rule set so have agreed on old semi -pro rules. This fight is imo of high calibre with two excellent fighters so wether old semi pro, new amateur GNP rules or pro and is a very welcome addition the the card :)

just a we question, if this 30day rule is so important as it seems, as a result decky dalton had to pull out of a fight on cage contender due to it, so i was wonder why is it you wont let a fighter fight on your show if they are fighting within 30 days on another show due to fighter safety but you are willing to let a fighter you'es manage compete within 30days from when they last competed, what is the difference????

Although this is going off topic of the thread, the difference is not everyone has regulations to follow or are sanctioned, shows who are not sanctioned can make their own decessions on whats best for their show.

Alot of shows do not have a 30 day limit and the promoters are the guys who decide what they want to do regards putting fighters on their card.
The said fighter I think you mean was booked in Chaos first and was offered a fight 28 days later under the pretense from us that only if he was not knocked out at Chaos, the promoter agreed and since he was not knocked out he did not have to pull out. With sanctioning or regulations you can not do that as a report is submitted of the fights well in advance.

Hope that clears it up and we can get back on topic

    thanks

Fighters can fight every week if they're not under contract. Also if the fighter is amateur you can't hold him under contract unless you're paying him, and if you're paying him he's not an amateur! As long as there's no concussion or other trauma involved a fighter can fight when he wants.

Promoter self controlled shows yes as they ultimately decide what they want so can allow guys to fight on a show one week before. most sanctioned shows have the 30 day rule wether your amateur or pro. Fighters should be aware of this agreement before accepting fights, if it doesn't suit them that's cool.
If they want to fight every week they can but not on the shows who are sanctioned by a body who sets the rules for
    their sanctioned shows.

There are loads of ISKA MMA shows across the Uk, Europe and the world - all must abide by the conditions not just Clan Wars where people must seem to think I have say in the rules lol

Which is why the vast majority of sanctioning is essentially bull**** for what is an amateur sport.

If we were talking about having cards full of pro fighters with pro contracts, then 30 day rules are correct and right. However we're talking about amateur cards with professional expectations. Amateur fighters are fighting for free, they're fighting as a hobby (though some might have ambitions, they're amateur until they're paid). If you're fighting for fun and not money, then you should be allowed to do it as often as you wish, as long as it's safe to do so. We're not talking about non-profit organisations with only the sport in mind, we're talking about for profit promotions with a healthy bottom line as one of their priorities. You can't stop someone who is essentially doing you a favour by fighting from fighting as much as he wants.

An amateur fighter fighting amateur rules is gaining experience before moving up a rules class/division. Since they have jobs/studies/lives outside of fighting, they may only have a limited time frame in which to compete. They should be allowed to do that when they see fit. The ISKA might have rules such as these but you're the only promotion in Ireland with that affiliation, so their rules stop once someone steps outside your door, and save removing them from your card, you're pretty powerless to enforce any ISKA regulations.

I'm aware that this is off topic since this is a thread about your show and I don't mean to detract from your promotion, but the question was raised. Perhaps it's better if a moderator splits this so as not to affect your promotion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 385 ✭✭IFS.NI

Your entitled to your opinion Barry but i feel its taking away from the purpose of the thread.

I have nothing left to discuss on the matter, we run the show how we see fit under the regulations we are given and it has worked well for us.

People who support it and agree to the rules I am given get involved, no one is holding a gun to their heads lol

People who the ISKA rules do not suit don't get involved,Simple. Theres alot of shows to choose from to which we support also.

No one is forced into anything and each team can make their own choice.

I appreciate your input but I would like to keep the post on topic

    Thanks

Sudden Impact fighter Dom OKane has different ideas! Anyone who knows the Sudden Impact guys they are tough as nails and always put on a good showing!

ALL TICKETS SOLD OUT FOR CLAN WARS 7 AT THE ULSTER HALL BOX OFFICE WITH 2 MONTHS TO GO!

Tickets for the Clan Wars 7 show at the Ulster Hall on the 28th of May have sold out in record time with requests for many more tickets coming in from fighters looking extra and from fans who didnt get their tickets early.

If you havent got your tickets dont give up just yet as there may be some fighters who have a few put aside for their friends. I will text fighters and double check if any of them have any left and keep you all posted.

We are very happy the tickets went so well but its also unfortunate for those who will miss out, we will advertise early again for the next Clan Wars giving MMA fans as much notice as possible to get tickets early.

Thanks to everyone who bought early and for the continued support from all clubs involved and the Clan Wars supporters.

Dont forget doors open 3pm with the first fight at 4pm. Fights should be over 8pm allowing a night out on the tiles for the party animals after!

Performance Nutrition Plus will also be running a supplement stall and offering excellent prices on protein with unbeatable deals for clubs and gyms thinking of keeping stock.

We have 20 clubs representing and have a few extra fights to add before we release the full card altogether.

Thanks for your continued support and help!

    See you all soon!

    Thank you

    Clan Wars MMA

Sold out with 11 weeks to go? That must be a record. Any thoughts on moving it to a bigger venue maybe?

Thanks, yea will do it when I get home - few changes due to injuries etc.

Heres the ISKA Rules break down so people can understand the fights better.

AMA B - No grounded head shots, heavier gloves, all standing techniques except elbows (This would be the same as old semi pro rules only with heavier gloves)

There is only 2 of this type on the show

AMA A - Same as new Irish C class GNP Head shot rules

There are 8 AMA A GnP fights

Pro B - Same as Irish Pro B

Pro A - Same as Irish Pro A minus heel hooks and cranks

    There are 7 Pro Fights

Unfortunately due to injury both Peter Duncan and Hugh Brady will not be passed fit to fight for Clan Wars, we wish them both a speedy recovery and hope to see them back soon.

Just wondering when did Gavin Carlin start fighting out of Rillions rather that Evolve ?

Maybe Jason could confirm but it was shortly after the last Chaos show I was informed.

Just wonder why Tim Mc Cory is getting this title shot, should it not be John Redmond, who beat Tim Mc Cory quite easily, so does he not deserve the shot?
