Where would the best place to buy a a caldwell rock type benchrest?and how much would it be?I found the one i want on optics planet with the rear bag its 115$ but shipping is 68$,depending on the price it could be better getting it here or in uk,any websites i could look at them on?i can only find them on U.S websites.

Hi, bazza888, try the Sportsman Gun Centre in the UK. They have the Caldwell Rock rest for UK£85 (roughly €100 at the mo.) plus postage. I ordered this rest and a bunch of other stuff from them last year and the postage was UK£6. So that should be well cheaper than buying it in the States or possibly here also.

Judging by the price you are quoting its the Rock junior, but for the same money you could get the Rock BR. Tommyboy26 was selling one. Have a look at his advert. Not sure if its still available, but worth a PM.

Jim Griffin does indeed carry a line of Caldwell rests from the Junior, BR and the Firecontrol models. They range from €120 to €385 depending on model.

the junior is even cheaper its 40$ from optics warehouse, the one i was looking at is the rock model just seen it on opticswarehouse for 10£ cheaper,i was wondering is this any good?

Its not a bad rest, but doesn't have the side supports of the Caldwell, nor does it have the same size area of the base. The legs of the Caldwell spread out further giving a more stable frame to shoot off.

Check what each of the places are charging for postage?
Some good deals on Optic Warehouse, on the face of it. I'd be interested to see what the postage on this item would be.

Haven't used any of the Shooters Ridge kit, so can't comment either way on their stuff.

its working out as cheapest from opticsplantic its 135e for the rock rest arear bag and a sporter front bag to go on the rest,and 146e for almost the same from sportsman guncenter but without the right front bag i want and not including postage
