Maybe everyone has emigrated to a country where snow falls all winter long? There seems to be a lot of self loathing for our wonderful Atlantic climate. I think we should celebrate the mild, drizzly,cloud covered days that make ireland unique

Losing the will to live reading that. Also my doc told me the other day that the swine flu is expected to be worse during the milder weather, I dont know why but thats what he said.
I struggle to understand the mind set of the people who like the gloom. Its very depressing and it feels crazy mild out there compared to the cold. I dont like it one bit. Bring on the sneachta and chilly BRIGHT days.:cool:

You may want to reconsider the name of the Greenland Express. I just posted a situation update on the early sunrises in Greenland and instead of being -31 there recently, it's been more like -5. What's the name of that town that in the coldest place on earth? Begins with an O.

As for Jake, she knows her place is in the kitchen so I'm sure that there will be scones and homemade jam for all.

Place in kitchen AND on front of the screen. Theres crazy weather and Nature to watch

Its called post snow lull. For me I pop in and out everyday but after the exceptional weather we had the current weather pales into insignificance.
I prefer it this way, it sorts the wheat out from the chaff.

I suspect that there's lurkers like me around the place watching MT's forecasts with interest, but there are also other issues like a 4 letter word W**K that get in the way of being here 24/7

The other aspect is that the present weather while different is in comparison to November and December very boring and not particularly worth talking about much, whereas snow is different, doesn't happen too often, and causes all sorts of issues that people then get excited about for whatever reason.

There's still time for that to change again this winter, if the FI forecasts go where they are suggesting, things will be busy around here again before long
