Anyways, this is a Mw3 thread in a CoD forum, so keep the jibes about the franchise to another forum, or better yet yourself.

Lee you badass! :D you should become a mod or something :p

The one thing that would make MW3 amazeballs would be the ability to destroy buildings with people in it. First time I saw that on BF BC2 it sent a little warm fuzzy feeling through me.

Are games region free or region specific? Wouldn't that mean that our games would run at 50fps and not 60fps? (Kinda off topic, just noticed a bit of frame talk going on).

Im not really sure. Even if we are limited to 50hz having that 10fps buffer is never a bad thing. Im not really in the know about frame and refresh rates, but i've always noticed a big difference when playing PC games between say 75fps and 100fps on a monitor that only has a refresh rate of 75, its just.. smoother... Lakeskeane would be the best person to ask imo :P

You get 1 token for each Call of duty game you have prestiged in, its called the Veteran Package.

If you reach 15th Prestige in BO you will only get 1 credit, same for WaW CoD4 and MW2.

Huh? I thaught uou got a credit for each time you've prestiged?

So if I prestiged once in mw2 and went to 10th in WAW I'd still just get 2 between them?

pretty sure thats how it works!! you could get to max prestige on WaW COD4 MW2 Blops and still only get 4 creds...

what I want to know is (even though it aint happened to me) what happens if you never prestiged on MW2 but you got lumped into some hacked lobby and went to 10th prestige??

it'd be fcuking hilarious if Elite knew the difference between genuine and hacked prestiges, and hacked ones not only got nothing for the previous ones, but punished for the new ones :pac: you get 1/4 xp or something , that'd learn the littler fcukers :D

They're not giving a token for COD4 prestiges apparently (according to Woody)

All the info on the Prestige Shop you need can be found on this link here

    http://beta.digitalwarfare247.com/games/modernwarfare3/324-new-mw3-vid-talks-prestige-shop

This time in 2 weeks we will all be "sick" cough cough!!!

COD4, WAW, MW2 and Black Ops if you prestiged in any you will get 1 Prestige Shop point (per game not per prestige).

Working my way through COD 4 multiplayer so i'll have 4 on launch day!!! BOOM!!!

    @fourzerotwo Robert Bowling
    to
@Dayle_Taylor Yeah, you can play or fully customize Gun Game, One in the Chamber, Infected, and several other PM exclusive gametypes.

Ugh....I never got to prestige in any of them because I just don't get to play enough.

Don't feel I'll get my monies worth if I buy all that extra stuff.

You can, he annotated the video to say Bowling said you get one prestige point for prestiging in COD 4, WAW, Blops and MW2.

But PM exclusive. Which sucks, I would have loved to have them in lobbies you can join. Just for a change up when you don't have 6 friends online.

    No offence, and going by all your posts in the Battlefield forum;

Yes, I am disappointed with the recent COD releases and couldn't resist cracking a joke when I saw that gamestop trade-in offer!

As for the youtube comment I QUOTED, am I not allowed to find it funny?

I'm well aware all ages play the game, I mean ffs, I've played all releases upto now and I'm certainly no spring chicken!

I don't see how that makes my points less valid though,
because I have certainly refrained from sarcasm or joking in this thread.

I am merely pointing out the issues I see and people are automatically going on the defense.

gameplay far supersedes graphics in importance in a game for me. It's no secret that the feel of BF is realism, and that of CoD is an arcade shooter, and the graphics definitely reflect that. I'll wait until I buy both games after release to come to a conclusion as to what I prefer, and even then it'll be weeks/months before I can say that with some confidence.

I agree 100%, If MW3 had better graphics than Battlefield I still wouldn't pick it up. I did expect them to be better though.

I just cannot see the gameplay being much different from the last 2 releases,
from analyzing the gameplay footage online.

And I for one, am extremely tired of this repetition, i wan't to see the series evolve and stay fresh.

Now I know you can only get so much from watching gameplay footage, but it gives you a fair idea of how it compares to the previous titles.

I just want to make the point also, that I was comparing Battlefield 3 solely to
recent titles and the up and coming COD title.

The only BF title I played since BF2 (besides the beta) was Bad Company 2, and I only started playing it recently.

Again, I am by no means a fanboy of the "other franchise", I have already said i'd rather play the old COD games than BF2.

But you can assume what you like.
    fjsanchez wrote: »
As for the feel of the game... are you playing the same games that everyone else is playing ? CoD weapons pack little punch compared to BF ? Seriously ?

I should have been more specific on what I meant by punch.
Its really the "feel" of the weapons I was trying to get at.

I think the sound of the weapons and the recoil of the weapons are far too weak in COD.

The cartoonier graphics do not help this also imo.

There is an old FPS game called Black which I think was one of the best sounding FPS games, and even that old game trashes COD in terms of audio and weapon feel.

I'm going to leave the criticism here, as there's obviously a lot of people on here looking really forward to playing Modern Warfare 3, and I don't want to be putting a downer on the buzz in the run up to it.

A lot of people are probably well aware of the same criticisms anyway, I felt I've done enough talking on the topic! ;)

One thing IW do amazing is sound, hands down, you obviously haven't played MW2 with Astro's or Turtle Beach X11's or higher.

    Incorrect,
I've played it on a high end audio interface I use for music production and Studio Monitors. ;)

And I do not think you need a high end audio system to criticize the recordings used for weapons and explosions.

I played Black (PS2) on a CRT TV and was still blown away by how good and authentic it sounded.

Audio is mastered to sound good all round from low end systems to high end systems anyway.

That's right, Black as brilliant, and it is available on 360 arcade.

Yet another game for the 'to do' list.

That being said each gun has a unique sound even when silenced, yet Battlefield 3 has that generic Popcorn popping sound for each gun, whether in be the AKS74u AK74m or RPK, they all sound generic.

I honestly fail to see/hear to this myself, for unsilenced guns anyway. Edit: make that both.

And this is the best video to put it to the test:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?src_vid=zmWOxpKjbeo

Check our the info for the list of weapons with a clickable time link,
to skip to each one for comparison.

Each weapon certainly sounds unique to me,
even when comparing all the weapons in the same class, side by side.

I like how there is a big difference in volume when you change to ironsights too.

I'm actually really impressed with the CoD community so far and the lack of absolute bollox talked about BF3. We're pretty much all in agreement that the two are different games and as such should be judged on each of their merits.

Certain members of the BF3 community, however, have been nothing but childish, throwing insults around as if we actually give a toss. Seriously, if you dislike CoD that much then why post on this forum? Shouldn't you be off playing BF?
