Don't care if you guys hate me but I'lll be betting against McGregor.

The dude is the most overhyped thing I've ever seen and judging by his appearance on the Late Late he has more than a few screws loose.

Besides that he's had a total of one minute of UFC fight time and he's fighting a crafty dude with 5 fights in the Octagon.

Almost the exact thing goes for a Uriah Hall. Totally overhyped who knocked out a few cans like Bubba and Adam Cella on TUF.

Here's one of my bets. fiver nets 427.

ps: Great looking card, most stacked I've seen in ages

Not a bad bet but I think you may be slipping up by going against McGregor.
    Only time will tell though.

If you thinks it's value why not
I have no allegiances where betting is concerned and
    would do the same

More I think about it the more I fancy mc gregor but
it's hard to take 4/11 about a guy who's only beaten cans
Saying that I think we might be about to see something
very good...until then I'll keep my powder dry for another
    day on conor
I like max though and I hope there's a little respect shown
to him by conor at the weigh in

on another note welkin I do hope that if conor does win that
there won't be some newbies coming into the thread just
    to rub in it

The line on Howard vs Hall is pretty insane IMO. 2/9 favourite in Uriah, coming off a loss... could be a worth a cheeky accum on Howard together with Travis Browne to lay out The Reem.

  • Registered Users Posts: 57 ✭✭tower08

Alot of people writing off Overeem including myself initially because of his last fight, which he lost because he got complacent and didn't respect silva's power, but that was his only loss in a long time, as they say mma fans do have short memory's.

Don't think I would include Travis Browne on my accumulator, too risky!

No value to be had on Uriah Hall, crazy odds for a guy that lost his UFC debut.

My picks are for my accumulator are Nijem, Ovince St. Preux, Brandao, mcGregor, McDonald, Lauzon, Brown, sonnen and maybe faber (dont know enough about his opponent yet)

I'd pick Faber against anyone in a non-title fight.

I'd pick Faber against anyone in a non-title fight.

He'll grind out a decision 90% of the time

I do think Faber will win but gotta disagree with you Ray Mond, I think he takes the submission here. At 4-1 on PP it's a really nice bet. Faber's last 3 wins have been by submission, a decision loss to Barao in the middle of that notwithstanding.

Still think Shogun gets the W although many people think Sonnen gives him the blanket treatment.

Those are my 2 bets for the weekend. Haven't had too much accumulator luck lately so will leave off that one.

PP doing a moneyback special if McGregors fight ends in a sub. Also goes for the Sonnen fight. Bit of value especially in the Sonnen fight which is more likely to yield a sub.

    Conditions
Applies to singles placed on the match betting market before the fight starts.
    Max Refund €100/£100 per customer.
Applies to bets placed online or via mobile only.
    Paddy Power MMA rules apply.

    Shrewd by pp

seems the least likely outcome in both of
    those fights imo
conor max surely stays on the feet
shogun wouldnt sub the cat and most of sonnens losses
    have been by sub

fair play to paddy though, it's a concession at least which is more
    than other firms are offering
I think I recall them paying back on a fight this year but I can't
    remember which one

broders, one of these days our picks will be the same and that'll
be the day we both lose :)

didn't realise john howard is from boston

I'm liking that bet on howard even more now :D

on that note, couple of small bet on these (betv)
insane prices, if he wins its surely by ko and early

John Howard to Win in Round 1
    (Round Betting)
    Odds: 12/1

Just wondering if im one of the only ones still waiting to get paid from the 'John Ferguson - Cage Contender failure to pay fighters threads'(both deleted by the way). €157.50 im still owed.

Don't be surprised to see that deleted, like the others

I fully agree. Hall didn't impress in his (proper) UFC debut and has no noticeable names in his win column. Howard is very experienced and faught decent competition before losing 3 in a row to Ellenberger, Alves and Matt Brown. The TUF hype really set the line on these odds. I'll be putting a small bet on Howard by points @13/2

Not a lot of value tomorrow night. Conor to win by ko in round 1 is 2/1, gonna have a few quid on that just for the craic. My real bet of the night is the Sonnen/Browne double. I think Browne might be the most under rated heavyweight the ufc have. He would have killed Bigfoot if he didn't tear his hamstring and Overeem is just a conglomerate of steroids and hype. In my opinion anyway. The Sonnen/Browne double pays 4/1 which is tasty

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭stiffler123

Only bet Im having is on Chael Sonnen/ Joe Lauzon @ just over evens. I think Chael will grind Rua down and eek out a decision, Ruas gas tank has been questionable for some time now too. Michael Johnson is a wrestler and not much else, his striking is pretty poor. I think Lauzon will operate at too fast a pace for Johnson, he should beat him up and finish him.

Prices on Mcgregor, Overeem etc are too short to bet on imo.

conor 6/1 to win in the 2nd is a decent bet

bit of value in that compared to 6/4 in the first imo
its a huge price if max manages to make it out of the first

can't hurt for a euro even if it's probably unlikely
I like betv, good prices and range of markets
wasn't long ago you were almost solely depending on
    pp for mma prices

John Howard to Win in Round 1 @ 12/1
    (Round Betting)
Joe Lauzon to Win in Round 1 @ 7/4
    (Round Betting)
Matt Brown To Win By Decision or Technical Decision @ 7/2
    (Method of Victory)
Alistair Overeem to Win in Round 1 @ 13/10
    (Round Betting)

jesus I see so much i want to bet on
howard, howard ko, howard in round one
chael pts along with some big priced accums :o

    last one
    double, almost 8/1
really feel lauzon will sub johnson earlier and itll be
in the first round but whatever happen I feel lauzon will
put on a display and possibly win another bonus
pickett as tough as they come but mac is quicker
    pts win surely imo

Michael McDonald To Win By Decision or Technical Decision @ 11/5
    (Method of Victory)
Joe Lauzon to Win in Round 1 @ 7/4
    (Round Betting)

how bout conor for ko of the night at 8s with pp (5s+6s with others)
that could look big but you have to fancy there'll be a few
    decent kos on that card

Faber/McGregor/Lauzon/Sonnen Accum for me... think Faber and McGregor are too short but I'm still expecting them to win..

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,839 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

coral gave me a free bet god bless them so its gone on this accum
sure what else could I put it on? :D

Im not sold on browne given how he struggled with kongo but
I might be wrong on this one
It just that over has been in there with the best that sways me
I thought he would be shorter myself

Did the exact same accum this mornin myself

Have a small treble of Howard, Faber and Lauzon as well

  • Registered Users Posts: 321 ✭✭Gatame

Ended up putting McDonald in my accum aswel but joe ends up letting me down, still my favorite fighter and one of my personal heroes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 563 ✭✭✭Junior D

    Sorry, burst of anger gone.
Feel sorry for Lauzon, good guy, looks like he got pretty smashed up!
That's all my money gone for the evenin

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,839 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

too many bets to quote but howard saved my skin
sorry I went with the round bet and ko bet
shouldve just stuck more on the win
still down a few quid though but it could have
    been disastrous

Chael was 13/10 just to win before the fight yet 4/6 yesterday yet I was only getting 7/5 on his method of victory
how I wish those odds were available a few days back

  • Registered Users Posts: 563 ✭✭✭Junior D

Lauzon ruined all my bets except I that I threw on while the event was goin on.
Did me out of over €100 profit, had him in 3 different accum's, thought he was a nailed on win.
Only one that won for me was Faber and Sonnen double
