I was happy until I saw there was a poll. Now I'm apprehensive that my level of happiness is actually going to be accumulated against National Depression.

Now there's a twinge of excitement as I now know I'm nearing completion of this post and am going to click on the "Submit Reply" button.

    Nope. Now it's regret.

I'm quite happy as a general rule, i think it stems from the fact that i'm easily amused, i honestly can't remember the last time i was bored, also i'm not that materialistic, right now i'm stone broke, but i couldn't really give a toss - i'm not going hungry broke.
And most importantly of all, i have the love of a good woman! Awhhh;)

i'm a 9, honestly things have not worked out as planned (can you plan being made redundant?) but it all worked out for the best in the end, i don't dwell on the bad stuff anymore i just look forward and concentrate on the good,

having my fabulous daughter is most definitely the happiest part of my life followed in close 2nd by finding a guy who i have to say makes me unbelievably happy,

i have alot to be happy for and i wouldn't change a thing!

I'm a 9. Could seriously do with a bit of extra cash and a job to bring in that cash but apart from that, life is good!

I'm happy and in good form most days, the days I am not I'm very down and upset! Anything could make me feel unhappy, a little thing could just set that off and make me moody. For the most part I am happy! Roughly a 6!

I think I'm just always smiling. Genuinely happy with the way things have worked out this year.

The only thing that could make this year better is (if this was all a game) if I had a cheat for unlimited money. Something I could just type into the ATM and my funds would automatically go to 1000000000000000....... ;)

I can't just rate my life! One week could be a three, the next could be an eight or a nine. I don't just muddle along consistently at the same score.

    Today though, I'm a seven.

Edit: Maybe an eight, because it's Friday.

I think 'pretty happy' is my neutral state.

I think what helps is, like some other posters, little things amuse me and keep me entertained. Also I find joy in the small normal things. Like a twix and a cup of tea, or a a journey made without falling on the ice.

Iv made some pretty good choices with my friends too and they are a huge contributor to my level of happiness, and I'm very lucky in that I get on with my family.

Sure, Iv no money and oftentimes stress over making the rent but hey Im here and I'm healthy right?

Usually up around the 8 or 9. Lately more 6 or 7. Don't think I've felt unhappy since I was 14 just sometimes things are going better than others but no matter what I'm always happy in general. Probably because no matter the sh!t, and there can be sh!t, I have a great family and amazing friends.

Aww. Now to finish work and drink the soppiness away.

    A few months ago I was 7 or 8.
    Now I'm 2 or 3.

The past two months have pretty much sucked. But tomorrow I could be 10. Or 1.

    Meh.

My feet are pretty bloody cold and that makes me a little bit sad, but otherwise, I'm fine! :) Like an 8 or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

    Let's see:
    • I'm alive and well
    • I have a GF
    • I have full-time job that I actually enjoy...............but it's voluntary so no pay but that don't matter as long as I still get me social.
    • I've got no worries, litteraly nothing to bother me with.
Hmmm, I'd say things are going pretty damn well this year. A nice contrast to the misery that was 2009.

Plus it's a Friday which means my annual purchase of an 8-pack of beer and a footlong Subway for another week done. :D

9/10 at the minute. Love my job, have a wonderful wife, nice house. I am fit and healthy, and generally in a good mood most days (I put that down to running most mornings. :))

Despite a bad bout of depression recently, I'm on my way back up now and would put myself at a 6 on that scale - could be better but I'm still happy. Just trying to work out some sort of direction in life at the moment. When I actually have something to work towards and have some sort of feeling of purpose or something, I'll definitely feel happier and more stable with it.

I'll have to say I'm at a 6 right now.
And that's because I'm lately going through a bit of a slump. Wasting time on the internet all day, doing little or no useful/productive work. Got exams in 3 weeks time and haven't even started studying for them.

But its all gonna change soon. Very soon. Infact from this weekend onwards. Can't afford to put off studying for the exams anymore. And also as I've made the ridiculous decision to take part in the Dublin marathon next summer, I'm also gonna start training for it regularly. Also gonna have an interesting time next year. Lots of studying, a big exam and a very big exam which I've absolutely gotta do well in if I wanna have any good chance of getting a decent job in the future. Gotta become very active for all of this. Next summer might just be the fittest and most efficient I've ever been all my life!!

Surely things can only get better from here!!
