    MW2 by a mile...

    What was good in MW2....

Graphics - treyarch messed that up
    Sound - that too
    Matchmaking - Yup.

Jaysus, that's why MW2 is better?

They are certainly the stand out points to define whats better about mw2 than black ops. Things like control scheme finer points are simply personal preference as opposed to graphics / sound / match making which can be agreed on by the majority of people as being ether better or worse.

I honestly couldn't separate them both at this moment. I think playing MW2 with all the xbox guys here has raised and prolonged the enjoyment from that game. We'd often crush all comers and some of the games we played together were amazing fun. Keeping Elkatsumoto's ridiculous winning streak going became our winning streak, shooting down enemy uav even when you had ghost because you'd know they'd be covering you whilst you spin around like a dervish. In a word, altruism.

BOPS could be as good as MW2 but I haven't as yet consistently enjoyed it as much as MW2/1. In fact I found it far more frustrating. The spawn system seems nonsense, even in array you have spawns that chuck opposing teams spawns almost within sight of each other. It's even worse on nuketown and firing range especially when the game isn't TDM. Nuketown is just a rectangular version of rust, its a TDM map and shouldn't be used for tactical games. Launch does the same, people spawn behind you but it has the rocket area as a neutral point. I know some people will like the greater closer to the action side but not at the complete loss of a tactical element.

It still seems to reward camping (cannot scavenge equipment though), and there is still a massive host advantage (my internet could be the main culprit here) and the party system still seems flakey, a party of 6 becomes 4 in the lobby. Also I find it much easier to MW2 (hence less of a challenge) but that could be the influx of people who play for a month and never get "good" whereas all the people who played MW2 to the end were old hands at the game.

I hate to say this but I actually prefer playing multiplayer (alone) rather than in a small group in BOPs (2 or 3 on a team), simply because in TDM the team that wins is the team with the least amount of rubbish players. If your teammates outside your party are just giving the enemy soft kills (and don't carry at least a LAW between them), then you're hardly likely to knock out a UAV if you and you're party are running ghost. I'll save my strella-3 for a chopper. It changed the way I play simply out of necessity from a team player to a selfer.

If all the guys who played MW2 regularly together played BOPs for a week solid in a 6 man team of boardsies then I'm sure they might soften their opinion but likewise if all the people who praised BOPs over MW2 played in our parties in MW2 they would have a much tougher choice between them.

Perhaps it was just the fun we had when we all played together, the game is largely irrelevant and the greatest enjoyment was from each others company and sharing an experience? The time the lads all camped up at spawn in Strike as snipers, everyone running ghost and silencers in TDM, the zombie knife game type, using riot shields in search and destroy.

Next time I'm on I'll be getting the band back together.

Prefer MW2 to be honest..Maybe its just coz it was the first game I gave any serious multiplayer time to.

But I find the black ops maps a little samey, theres a number whose names excape me, but they are basically snow filled industrial complexes which have very little to differentiate them from one another. Other ones such as the cuban house one is basically the same as the others without the snow.

I really only play FFA so the experience could be different on other game modes.

Ironically I am close to prestiging and have a 1.5 Kdr in black ops, I never got close to even a 1.00 in MW2.

Mw2. Apart from the obvious reasons (sound, graphics and matchmaking) I hate the maps in black ops. They are depressing and tbh, puts me off playing blops. I could pop in MW2 now and play it on my own or With people off here for 4-5 hours. I would not be able to do that on blops.

Because of all the talk about MW2 having better graphics/sound/feel to it, I went back and had a few games of it last night.

I honestly dont know where that's coming from. I think the graphics are far superior in Black Ops. The sound is better in MW2 all right, but no way I'd drop all the benefits (and there are many) of Black Ops for that.

If Black Ops could fix the connection/lag issues and sort out the god damn knifing , then I reckon it would be far superior to MW2

MW2 is way better than the BOPS, just look!

Was playing MW2 earlier on the my mates 360 for about 15 minutes. * I traded in MW2 for those who don't know *.

    Anyway.

2 games. One was Sabotage on Highrise. My entire team was spawn trapped across the building where you can get on the roof. 2 snipers up there with Tac Insert up their crack. 1 on the helipad sniping through the gap. 2 gimps with M/L/C and one guy with a OMA, DC and Noob tube bonanza on the crane/scaffolding beside our spawn.

The guy with the bomb? On the roof the entire time. Seemingly my teammates were quite stupid in that they kept running out the window instead of going the lower section like I was doing. I was the only one breaking even on my team but I had to rage quit.

    2nd game, Ground War. I went 48-7.......

6 of my deaths were from noob tubes.

It was super duper, uber epiczzz fun.

Yimrag, you brought a tear to my eye.

    ...oh the memories!

But in all seriousness, great post. I really think it was the banter and the constant crushing, having a full 6 person lobby run til stupid o'clock that made the game for me.

This is how I imagine we would react if we were to get the band back together.
