In a survey of people who come online saying they got a bj of some moth, 100% of those surveyed never had said bj in the first place.

My Dad has been as well as my Dad one of my best friends since I was a teenager, since Mum passed away a good few years back he has also been much more than my Dad and my best friend. If I ever have kids I'll be delighted if they think half of me as I think of him, he still annoys the sh1te out of me quite regularly though, and I him no doubt.

That hooker last night was superb.

    €30 well spent.

You really gotta break out of that price bracket. There's a whole new world of slightly-less-skanky prostitutes waiting for you out there!

I was lowering the use of vocabulary to match the terms of said BJ.

Gah! My lovely upbeat thread and now it's all about fellatio?!

Should have known better than to start it in After Hours ;)

I guess people have lower expectations of others today than they used to.

That might well be true - I usually don't 'expect' any one to go out of their way to do me a favour. So when they do, I appreciate it.

Car broke down earlier in the year, my uncle borrowed a transporter and towed it home for me to save me having to get it towed about 30 miles. Legend!

A transporter?! Like on Star Trek?!?! Coooooooooooooool!!

No need to have a car at all if you have a transporter!

    :)

When my father was very seriously ill, my neighbours drove him to and from the hospital on a number of occasions. They also called in on my mother and drove her to the shops. I was in college at the time and I'll never forget how sound they were.

Let's face it! Who went on this thread just to see if someone had something nice to say about them? ;)

    I know I did...

One of my best mates at work in frosty weather when I was delayed leaving, went out to find he had put deicer all over my windows while he was doing his own, has done it a few times since as well. A simple thing, but nice.

You love him don't you? And you're both male.

Apolloyon very kindly added a post to my flagging thread about nice things people have done for us. I appreciated this because somehow
    a) As a result of his actions, the thread is near the top of the AH forum again, and is thus more likely to get additional responses
    and
b)the thread (which I thought started out well), descended into a discussion on fallatio and the liklihood of moths engaging in same and Apolloyon didn't mention either of those things!

    So thanks Apolloyon! ;)

You've shamed me into posting a real response now!

Many years ago, I was leaving London to return to Ireland and found that my bags were a little heavier than I thought. My housemate who had just returned that morning from a night shift, without hesitation gave me a hand with my luggage all the way from my former home to the the tube station and from there all the way to Euston railway station.

I could have not made that trip without his help!

My dad used to drive over to the south circular road from portmarnock three nights a week at 2300 to give me a lift home from the night school that he paid for. Top fella.

Long long ago, I was living in the US, long story short I had to get back to Ireland as soon as possible.

I packed up as much as I could and a work colleague said he would give me a lift to the airport, all my flights had been booked through a travel agent in Dublin. I was under way too much pressure for time, so really appreciated the offer of a lift to airport.

I had only worked with Jeff for a few days in the job I was in. He collected me in his car, he hadn't told me that he had been done for DUI (Driving under the influence) and had been stopped twice so ended up with a breathalyser fitted to his car as per the law in Pennsylvania.

I can't remember exact details but every time he drove a certain amount of miles an alarm would go off in the car, we'd have to pull over, he'd blow in the breathalyser, wait two mins for the results, the engine would only restart if it was clear.

The drive was about 25 miles and I think we had to pull over about 4 times. Sounds ridiculous but he was a saint that day. There was no public transport as everyone (except me) in the US has a car.

I never spoke to him again but always remember how kind he was to bring me to the airport that time.

    Cheers Jeff and Thanks :)

People are great. Last night my phone ran out of battery so I asked this girl if I could borrow hers and she let me.
I was on holidays and I was lost. I told the taxi driver that I didn't have enough money but to get me as close as possible. He brought me to where I was staying and made sure I knew where to go. This was well above the meter.
There are many other incidents but those are the first two are the most recent. I will try to 'pay it forward' and help others whenever possible.

Actually, even though we only knew each other a little then. We've since become close friends. Funny how life turns out, isn't it?:)

It is funny how these things happen.

A friend of mine who was an work acquaintance at the time was organising a trip around the world with another friend of his and he invited me to come along for any part of it which was a huge deal for me. I was stuck in a rut at the time and my group of friends were moving on, doing their own thing and i was in a job and going nowhere. So needless to say i took him up on his offer for as much of the trip as i could afford and it meant the world to me. For someone to invite me into their group like that because they knew i was stagnating a bit was incredible and something he did not need to do so i suppose thats someone who went above and beyond.

Incidentally all of us are still great friends and it was some of the best months of my life.
