If you had 200euro to spend on yourself on a luxury, what would you spend it on?

A grande dame Veuve Clicquot and some Créme de la Mer.

Yeah, I'd have to go with spa treatments. New Look is my favourite shop in the world, and it's pretty cheap, so I wouldn't bother with clothes. I just bought loads of make up. So a massage, a facial, all that jazz.

Yeah I absolutely adore New Look too - gorgeous stuff, can't believe the prices.

Ickle, have you stolen my brain? :pac:

    Hmmmm, €200....

A trip to the hair dressers - you always feel fab straight out of the hair dressers.
Nice lunch and a butlers white hot chocolate/ shakes milk shake for dessert!
Then off to the sales for a root with my full belly and fab hair to find a nice discounted piece for my already overflowing wardrobe! :D:D (I know it's not luxury, but man I love me a good sale!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,698 ✭✭✭✭Princess Peach

I believe €200 could get me a cheap flight to maybe London, and a sort of nice hotel room and a nice dinner out and a good walk around the city.

Even if its just one night, I'd love to get away :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

If someone handed me 200 right now (it is my birthday on Monday in case you're still stuck. Take up a collection amongst yourselves I know there's a recession on!) I'd do the following:

    Hair cut & colour: 70
    CND Shellac Manicure: 20

and then I'd either try and get a chemical peel (although I doubt 110 is enough for that) or just go to MAC and buy a few things.... mmm MAC....

    So many options...

    1. I would try book a cheap holiday somewhere nice maybe just to England with my boyfriend to see his family.

    2. Shopping spree! :D Some clothes, new make up, accessories the works.

    3. Go for a nice meal with my boyfriend, see a movie go for a drink afterwards :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,540 ✭✭✭Giselle

    Just thought of more.

I love shopping for books, and a real treat is a selection of hardcover bestsellers.:)

Swedish massage, a turkish bath and a babysitter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

200 quid for a massage? pffft I charge 70 for a full body, keep the rest and get something nice :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Rush tickets (when they go on sale this week) and a new pair of Docs. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,016 ✭✭✭Blush_01

    Petrol. :o

Who am I kidding, it'd go towards my car repairs.

Though if I really had a few hundred euro, Alan Ardiff would be a serious runner if I could genuinely just spend it on myself for fun, lovely things.

I'd buy my favourite perfume - Coco Mademoiselle Chanel - which is stupidly expensive and then spend the leftovers on anime DVDs :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,404 ✭✭✭✭Pembily

Allover massage, pedicure, manicure, nice lunch out :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,150 ✭✭✭✭Malari

I'd get a subscription to Sky Sports. Actually €200 wouldn't get me a year. It probably wouldn't get me 6 months! But I'd have the luxury of watching the Heineken Cup matches from the comfort of my own home, and get the Ashes in too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,331 ✭✭✭✭bronte

My Eve Lom cleanser.....ooooh and I absolutely love Molton Brown Naran Ji handsoap...smells yum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,304 ✭✭✭coffeelover

A trip to the hairdressers and finally take the plunge to dye my hair and buy lots of nice dresses :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,531 ✭✭✭Little Acorn

A really nice meal in restaurant for myself, boyfriend, and another couple who are our best friends. I might possibly need to add another 50 euro though, not sure. Get all dressed up etc., and make a whole great night of it.

I enjoy eating out faaar too much!:)

A neckmassage and anything by Weleda...

I do something i have never done before.

I'd probably add to the €200 myself and take a hot air balloon ride. Have always wanted to go up in one. Get lost in the air for a couple of hours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,713 ✭✭✭✭Novella

I'd buy really expensive, snuggly bed sheets 'cause at least then I wouldn't have spent the money on something that'd just be over in an hour and then I'd be all warm and comfy every night. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭Edgedinblue

Since ive no money as is id probably buy the grand total of 3 xmas presents i have to buy this year. and with the money thats leftover buy myself new runners and maybe a new top

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

Well I think I'd give it to charity...lol jk, I'd probably go to a spa/get my hair done/go shopping. I'm a sucker for party dresses so I'd either buy a really nice evening dress or a few party dresses, or just one dress but a whole outfit to go with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

    A haircut definitely!

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 16,186 ✭✭✭✭Maple

The Merry Christmas, Darling box from Lush ... It looks amazing! :D
Has around 25 Lush bestsellers in it.

And a dress from the Lanvin for H&M collection.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,668 ✭✭✭brainyneuron

€200? Well I guess I'd either treat myself to a day or two away in a spa, full body massage with seaweed wrap (amazing!) and facial/foot massage and other treatments like that.
Or I would book a flight somewhere nice and head off for a day or two somewhere new. I love exploring new cities and finding hidden away little gorgeous buildings/churches off the beaten track :):D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,245 ✭✭✭psycho-hope

hmm, either clothes, or maybe a night in a hotel and dinner for me and the boyfriend, poor pet isnt in the best of form lately and he could do with some cheering up

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 681 ✭✭✭Elle Collins

I'd stock up on my favourite Chanel foundation. It's one luxury I won't do without, and fuk the recession.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 Crazy_Fool

I would be straight on a bus to the fabulous New Look in Jervis! :D

A romantic day and night out for me and my boyfriend and a spa day then another day for me and my mam...think that's stretching the 200 a bit though!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 644 ✭✭✭Mackleton

Hmmm....€200 you say? That's hard actually, enough to do something decent with but won't really go that far either...;:p

    1. New pair of killer going out shoes
    2. A classic tailored black blazer
    3. Stock of fantasy/sci-fi novels for those cosy Christmas nights by the fire
    4. Spend the rest chez MAC
    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,960 ✭✭✭allandanyways

I'd buy a large bottle of Ralph Lauren Romance, my favourite perfume ever.

And then I'd bring my Mam out for a massive dinner and cocktails in TGI Fridays because she never spends a penny on herself nor does she get to go out much because my dad is such an antisocial eejit. TGIF's is her favourite restaurant cos she likes those big platters that the fajitas come on, she thinks they're the coolest things ever.
