Battery connection question

    Hi folks,

Sometimes batteries come with "male spade" type connectors that you can bolt onto the battery terminals themselves. I am looking for some of these to fit 4.8mm female spade connectors. Sourcing them isn't proving to be as easy as I imagined. Am looking to make my charging and lamp to battery fitting a bit quicker than my current routine.

Does anyone know where I could source these type connectors? I've been Googling since I got home with little success.

They may also be known as "push on" or "quick fit" connections.

    ATB,

    John

John if I'm reading this right your looking for a 4.8mm flat with a hole in to bolt to the battery post, which is shapped rectangle. This would then give you a way to push on the female connector that goes to your lamp.

If this is correct then I have never seen these for sale.

If it's just the connectors your looking for then any Auto Factors will have them in stock, as will Woodies, B&Q etc.

I changed all my fittings over to Hella plugs and sockets, they will never heat up or burn out. Have one from the car battery to the dashboard for in car lamping and on all my batteries.

Stick croc clips on the charger leads john. I have the exact same battery as you connected in the same way (you cant better perfection); I just croc clip onto the terminal without disconnecting the lamp...

Oddly enough I did order croc clips last night, already got one charger set up with them on. I just want to get away from having to undo bolts disconnecting my lamp. So I could have the female spade on the end of the lamp and the male flat spade on the battery.

I don't disconnect the lamp when I charge... Works fine for me!
