Miss out on the cheese? Don't worry. An Post is providing every one with a free 55 cent stamp*

    * must buy 25 to qualify.

Surprised somebody important hasn't announced it. Maybe the IMF will announce it tomorrow.

If you write to this address without a stamp:
    Santa Claus
    North Pole

...you'll get a personal reply. An Post pays for it all.

    Good for them.

I rang 11811 and they don't know what I'm on about.

I sense the beginnings of a barter economy. How much cheese is a stamp worth?

When I was young the jape of the season was to ask someone if they wanted a free stamp. And if they said yes then you'd stamp on their foot.

Of course you could not do it now, health and safety and all that. And slowly our culture dies a death by a thousand cuts

Free cheese and now a free stamp? Our government really know how to take care of us. It's as tho in these bad times they've turned the country into one giant episode of the Late Late Show just to keep our spirits up. Speaking of which, I wonder what the next prize will be? Perhaps a free one way plane ticket out of the country for everyone in the audience?
