Yeah i love it. It's flexible, i work from home or anywhere once i've a lap top and internet, get to travel, i'm well paid and my wages come from Belgium so it's safe from the shíte that Ireland is in. My work also leads towards the removal of child porn from the net. So rewarding in that respect too.

Sounds interesting, net traffic analyzing type tech job ??

I hate my job purely because of the mind numbing work I do (telesales). My boss is nice and the people I work with are lovely with the exception of two maybe. I'm in it for the money, not that there's a lot and also to do something daily. I was on the dole for 4 months and that is soul destroying.

Hopefully though I'll be granted a place in College next year for the career I really want which is in Occupation Therapy.

I've been out of work since Sept. Jeremy Kyle is on now though so I can laugh at people who'll always be worse then me.

Absolutely hate it. I work in a supermarket (part-time, while finishing up my research at college), and this particular company is the most conservative, backwards-thinking organisation I've ever come across. The work itself is okay (in a deli), the co-workers are bang-on, and even the deli manager is a nice guy. However, the company is the worst, and the general store manager is the most arrogant nutsack I've ever met. I've worked with and spoken to Ireland and Europe's top academics and sportspeople, and yet some self-obsessed supermarket manager is the only person that's ever ignored a handshake from me, like he's the cure to cancer or something.

Love it, and I take a lot of pride it the organisation too.

The lads are the criac, its rarely boring or 9-5 & children wave at me and think I'm cool :P - whats there to hate!.

It's a funny thing... For the past 7-8 months I've grown to hate my job. It's utterly thankless and without me the place would have closed down (not exaggerating, it's a very small business). Anyway, I'm losing my job next week and do you know what I've discovered...

    I still hate the place!

I'm happy to be out, but not happy that I've nothing to immediately do!

It's okay... I'm a bit of a general techie... pre-sales consultancy, implementation, SQL development etc. Sometimes wish I'd gone for a craft of some sort though, it'd be nice to actually *make* something.

My immediate supervisor is an absolute complete c**t whose grave i will dance on!!!

Apart from that yeah i like my job, interesting work, pity bout pay but apart from 'yer man' its pretty good

I got made redundant from my last job. Can honestly say i've never missed the place once. Hated it with a passion.

Love it! Although we are transferring to a new company soon which I don't think I am going to like as much. :(

Had a rock solid job in the pharmaceutical industry but hated it with a passion so I quit and am back in college now doing a post grad in an area that I'm really interested in. I've been on the dole in the past so I didn't quit the job without a lot of thought but I've never regretted the decision since.

Pretty much. Microsoft provide ICMEC with a bulk of the programs. Mostly spider technology that identify sites through credit card logo's. The FBI and ICE also provide us with programs. My background was criminology so the job also involves a lot of seminars around the world between various law enforcement agencies that work with us. Updating, training and co-coordinating worldwide efforts to combat it. Only downside is i have to view some sickening images.

I'd love my job if it weren't for the work!

    I like my job. :)

I mean, there are good days and bad days, like with any other job. But I don't hate going in there in the mornings. I like the people I work with. The money isn't great, but then again I was never really a money-motivated person. I find a lot of the work that I do very interesting. I feel like I learn so much from my job - the learning curve is very very steep, I'm only in the job just over a year and I feel like I've learnt far, far more than I ever learned in four years of college. And I love that. There's a lot of variety in the places I work and the people I work with. It's definitely challenging, but at least it's not boring.

Oh and I have an awesome manager, and I honestly think that it's one thing that makes such a big difference. I'm very lucky really. :)

I love my "job(s)", although I wish they were more regular/reliable - currently working as a multimedia artist, teaching electronics/programming, and being an installation technician for arts events. I've been very busy for the last few weeks though, so can't complain too much :)

Hate it, work in a call centre dealing with overdue accounts, apparently becuase theres a recession on people should be free to run up massive bills as they like then pay it back at whatever tiny amount per week/month/next full moon they like, and we're the bastards for cutting them off when they havent paid anything for 5 months straight, its amazing how quickly people "need" a service when they have it taken away from them, but are quite happy to not pay for it for months.

That and the public are by and large complete morons.

Best of luck I really hope you get it! Studying OT now and it's amazing and definitely not a boring career!

My job involves physical work, being on my feet the whole day and gets very stressful at times, but I absolutely love it.

I'm a teacher. Went back to college recently to do it, never thought it would have been the job for me when i was younger. I love it, it's very rewarding, and a lot more challenging than I would have expected. Every day is different and although sometimes the kids can be very annoying (i.e. repeatedly asking when is it time to go home/time for lunch even though it's before first break) they always say things that crack me up (i.e. Monday morning, news time:"My sister has a rash")

Pay isn't great but have just qualified, and have no kids/mortgage so it's a fortune in my eyes! Also applied for about 90 jobs this summer and only got 2 interviews so i'm very grateful to have one)

I'd concur with the manager bit. Definitely would be inclined to work harder for a manager who who's fundamentally sound.

Hate it. It's one of those retail jobs where everyone is micro-managed, and sales targets are top priority. I have to say, I'm usually happy in whatever job I have but... No. Just no. Wish I could afford to quit. ;)
