I suggest an arbitrary decision taken by a moderator, with an emphasis on cheap.

    Bull & Castle?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,503 ✭✭✭thefinalstage

Fibbers is always a good spot. Kind of hard to hear each other sometimes :p. The Wool Shed is a good spot too and lets not forget The Gypsy Rose.

    Fibbers is a hole.

The Longstone ain't bad. Doyles is okay. Woolshed is good when there's no match on.

Fibbers is pretty good. It has a great atmosphere and friendly people.

I'm also not a fan of Fibbers.

I love the Porterhouse (the one in Temple Bar!) but it's pretty expensive.

Foggy Dew can be nice too.

Perhaps do a poll? Also a confirmed list would be good.

I will be defo coming long.

Why is everyone hating on Fibbers? :p

Why is everyone hating on Fibbers? :p

Well I think not everyone is a rocker or mosher here and Fibbers is a rock bar.:P

    I love the Porterhouse

Is it still 21+? No idea if there is anyone 18-20 interested but best keep in mind

Yeah good idea. If so we could go to Yamamori, maybe Doctor Quirkys then drinks, or Dr. Quirkys first then Yama then drinks..

    That's a misquote :p

Ok, I've stuck in a poll of the venues that have been suggested so far. I'm editing the OP with a list of confirmed attendees so if you're coming, please post to say so :)

I really like Butterscotch's idea - any meet up that features Yamamori's is bound to be a success imo :P

EDIT: Oh and if anyone has confirmation if any of the venues are Over 21s only, that'd be great... I'm not 21 yet >_<

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭gearoidof

Mac Turchaill's has €3 pints for me, so I suggest that.

I will definitely be attending ;D.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 997 ✭✭✭tread_softly

    I shall be there!

by the by, not three sure if the porterhouse is over 21s or not

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,164 ✭✭✭Konata

    Yay for attendees!

I'll probably be dragging D4RK ONION along aswell - you can talk to him about anime such as Akira, Lucky Star, Evangelion (only 1.0 now, nothing else :p), Death Note, DBZ abridged (not the original or anything) and eh... that's about it :D

But yus, we certainly have enough now for it not to end up a complete disaster >_>

Regardless of that, we all know it will become a trainwreck, as every boards subculture meetup does :P

I'll be there, wearing indistinct clothing, sitting in an inconspicuous corner, drinking a generic beer.

So I don't post here much, and I'm not sure if I'll show up for that reason.

What are the times and stuff, when will we be heading to Yamamori's (and eh, which one?)?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,164 ✭✭✭Konata

Hmm, how about Yamamori's for 7/7.30? Then drinks after. That'd leave plenty of time for people to get last buses home if needed.

I'm only aware of one Yamamori's in the city (the one beside the Liffey) but you can probably tell that despite living here for 2 years, I'm a total noob when it comes to Dublin :p Where's the other one?

The other one is on George's street. It has a bigger face on the outside but it's smaller on the inside and more crowded.

I prefer the one on the quays.

Would people be going to Yamamori's for a bite to eat?

I'd be up for pubbing it up, but not for fooding it up, sorry.
Will ye be staying there after eating?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,164 ✭✭✭Konata

Yamamori's for food, followed by pub for drinks. Anyone can join at any part of the evening, you don't have to be there for all of it :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 481 ✭✭MarkMI6

Cool, I'll be outside Yamamori's for about 7pm so (:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78 ✭✭Lance-kun

Porterhouse says 21+ but most of the time they don't care if you're with older people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,503 ✭✭✭thefinalstage

We need but 2 more voted for Fibbers....Actually I want this event to succeed. The Porter House is my new choice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 773 ✭✭✭Cy_Revenant

    Which Porterhouse?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 997 ✭✭✭tread_softly

The one on Parliament Street is the only one acceptable :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭gearoidof

    You mean Nassau Street, surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Funky

I agree the Temple Bar one's better, and I swear it's not just because Zaytoon is on its doorstep :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,503 ✭✭✭thefinalstage

The one of Nassau street is superior. I will however fold to popular opinion.
