Its not that cold, getting to 8 degrees C maximum in Dublin. Thats bikini weather in mid Europe in winter.

That said the options in Ireland and Britain in the winter are

1) Cold, dry and crisp
2) Mild, wet and muggy.

I have seen January temperatures get to 15. Rain and muggy.

Love the cold and bright.
