Do you mind if we ask what you want with a deer.
I doubt there are many people here go to the bother of shooting a deer just to give it away.
Any deer I shoot I eat or share with my family and friends.
I don't like to see the commercial slaughter of wild deer.

To landkeeper, thank you for informing me of the prices, wasn,t aware of the cost at present. for the last number of years i was getting an 'unwanted' carcass as our kind neighbour prefered to travel the south midlands and shoot the deer rather than actually eat it. unfortunatly he has emigrated this year so i am at a loss. i do appreciate that there are horror stories associated with all such sport,i think most are contrived and exaggreated greatly by those who dont understand its the old art of hunter / gatherer.most probably think that meat comes from a white package in the supermarket. reflect back to the 'R.I.S.E ' campaign.

To poulo6.5 ,now what would i want a deer for? , in the absense of any ulterior motive i can only say that i,m guilty of wanting it for my freezer. i'm not adverse to a bit of dead fur and four hooves.fortunatly as already stated to 'landkeeper' there is actually people who ' just give it away'. a very noble feat in this current climate.I am hoping that my usual xmas present of a carcass of deer to my boyfriend, who is partial to a bit of venison is not in any way contruibiting to 'commercial slaughter' but if your frame of mind is as derogatory as your posted reply then you may see it that way.;)

    cheers lads for your replies.

If one went to the trouble to shoot one maybe they wouldn't give it away, but someone might need to offload a deer if they hit it with a car, as the first person to run it over is not allowed to take it. Maybe ISPCA or 'dept of roadkill'* would have a lead on something like that!
*governmental body that deals with it

well, if you go back and read your initial post in a different light, it could look like someone who is looking for shot deer for an ulterior motive. 'off loading' to my mind pictures up getting rid of rather than giving freely
if you had written 'a' deer that would have left little room for misunderstanding ;)
don't lash out at lads who object to what they see as disagreeable elements within their sport

I was not being rude or sarcastic. I just asked the question.
And if you looked at my post properly you would see that I do indeed GIVE deer meet to other people for free.
Your original post just said you wanted (deer for butchering).
Perhaps if you explained your self differently ther would no miss understanding.

    Good luck with your request.
Might I suggest a change in attitude when replying to people who only asked a question

    Lads and Ladies,

Previous posts aside can we please avoid a shouting match or argument. The OP has clarified her position and is looking for any deer that others may have that would be excess to their requirements. It is clear now that she (OP) wants it for personal use/consumption.

If anyone can help contact the OP, if not, don't let it worry you.

thank you mod. My apologies lads, any inferences from your replies were clouded by the fact that i was just of nite duty. my lesson learned is to explain my self better in future.I was just trying to keep the op brief its remarkable how the written word can be so differently interpreted by men and woman. we definitly think differently, keeps the world going round:) good luck with your hunting season.

If I get a deer in the next few weeks and have some spare I'll see what I can do.
I often jest with the neighbors, and say "I'll drop some over" Then I drive into their yard with one in the boot skin on and guts in. They say will you not skin and clean it out first!

Everyone wants handy meat, in zip locked bags ;)

I can hear you on teh night shift. I've spent ~4 years working all night.
Log on to boards before bed, ie: 9am and get a torrid of abise for garbled postings.

If you want some around the Christmas, and were willing to help in the process most guys/gals would give you some.
    p.s
I know of one female stalker in the country to date.
Not saying there is not more of them, it's just all that I have met.

Did you ever consider going stalking your self?

After all, females in most species are better hunters!

to tackleberrywho, thank you so much for your reply, i must have seemed like a bit of a bitch, the horror's of nite duty as you will know. i really think that those of us on nite duty have too much time to reflect on things.but i will admit i am so lucky to have a job at the moment.
dont mind the skins on and guts in , sorry 'handy meat in a zip locked bag ' is not for me.
you asked if i would like some around xmas, yes i would, not for me but my boyfriend. , would i help in the process ? yes i would.
i am a bit weird , up to two weeks ago i was swimming in the sea ,my
favourite is in the dark , beautiful, other than that i love the woods and collecting timber for the fire. its nothing new i lived in both areas growing up. we had nothing else .
give me a go and pm me, i wont kill for myself but i would do it for someone else. try me, i can only fold and walk away or stick with it.
and yes i am a very good stalker:) sorry you only met one, theres bleeding loads of them out there.
