Its an adapted bolt for a left handed shooter using a right handled rifle. The shooter uses the adaption that goes under and across the rifle with his left hand tp chamber the round/work the bolt.

Seen something similar years ago. Rare old thing i'd say.

When i first started shooting a lad i shot with had a left handed anschutz (he converted it from right handed himself) either 1712 or 1714 but it had the action/bolt on the right. Don't ask. Anyway he was a cracking shot and this was when we only shot with a sling. Problem was every time he had to cycle the next round he had to lean the rifle and so put off his position.

Solution was to remove bolt knob, and replace it with a "homemade" custom piece. It came of the bolt down and across under the rifle. Now he could cycle without leaning. Looked homemade, but his scores climbed because of the increased comfort level and piece of mind.

It's a weird looking solution alright! My rifles are proper true lefties though, and I'm happy with them. That said, there are a couple of righty stocks I've had a look at that are properly useful as ambidextrous ones, like the Sako TRG and the AICS. You get your AI yet fishslapped? Would love a look when it arrives. Seen the stocks, but never had a look at the action itself.
