Neil was in a strange mood,
So on a plane, decides to get lewd,
    The hostess was shocked,
    To see him so cocked,
That now his career is real screwed!

He'd best get a brain scan a bit sharpish, I've seen two people go bizarre for no reason.
Eventually it turned out there was physical reason for it.

Good point.Mind you he's been an odd prick as long as he's been on air.

Probably got into some real cocaine in London, having only had the headshop 'Jokaine' in Cork.Sat next to a women after blowing a fat rail and lost his mind completely.Coke and booze I'd say.

First mate, who was a bit odd, got worse, fell over and peed himself a few times. Went to the docs and had a bit of an event while he was there.
He had a non malignant meningioma the size of a grapefruit that had been growing and putting pressure on his brain for years.
He did have a funny shaped head though.
I can't help thinking that Prendiville guy may have a similar problem.

No, I'm a retired neuro surgeon.
And the answer to your next question is 'not very much'

Is it really possible that the radio station are getting thousands of messages of support for Neil P????? I find this hard to believe to be honest, why would anyone support him considering what he has done. I wonder in fact if this is only the tip of the iceberg !!!

I'm being genuine when I ask: what's so horrific about what he's done? Not saying it's good or anything, but is it really that outrageous? Who has it harmed other than him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭safetymanager

Just think about it Dudess, if you were the air hostesses or one of the passengers seated next to him how would you feel? Worse still imagine if you had a young son or daughter and they were exposed to this behaviour. It is vile, disgusting and totally unnaceptable in public and there is no excuse for it whatsoever.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

I'd think "Ew... put it away" and be morto for him as I'd know he obviously wasn't in his full senses. Wouldn't be any more affected than that. As for kids, the potential damage of stuff like this to kids is overestimated - what damage could it do?

Well we all know whose fault it is

Yeah its gross to do that in public, if he had that much of an urge, why didnt he go to the toilet even ? He should be sacked from his job..

I agree, all in, it's a public ****, public indecency really. Not so terrible.

But he put himself in the public eye, and put the public in his pubic eye. Given his position in the community, it is not surprising the ridicule he is receiving.

Deserving of having his job lost, not really, but deserving of losing the respect of the republic, yes, which indirectly effects his job.

How can he do shows on any subject related to sex when he will be branded a pervert by idiots?

I don't think it's that bad, but as my blurb may say, I always thought he was a bit of a wanker. He just got caught, which is a problem given his public persona.

Not sure if you are serious about he should lose his job.

Public indecency is not a good reason to fire someone. I would never get a job if it was given the amount of people who have seen my balls when drunk.

But as to why he didn't go to the toilet, because he was bollixed I guess!

Not saying he doesn't deserve ridicule, just that I feel sorry for him at this stage as his life is destroyed - he has paid well beyond his debt - and I don't think he deserves that. Some of the moralising here really reminds me of his show. He's being portrayed as a monster by now, which is just disproportionate, even though I found him really, really dislikeable.

Do you honestly think he knew what he was doing?

Neil Prendeville’s solicitor Gerald Keane revealed yesterday that the woman sitting beside the presenter as he reportedly exposed himself before engaging in the sex act under partial cover of a magazine, is a journalist with the Examiner

Suddenly I'm a lot more cynical.

    P.
Poor Alison , if she'd been on that flight she could have used the exclusive to pay off her flat.

I would have sucked him off if I was sat next to him. And I'd tell them 'I'd do it again if it wasn't for those pesky kids.'

So far he's paid no price for his behaviour.

It's actually quite shocking to hear someone pass off such behaviour as being almost acceptable. His consumption of drugs is no excuse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭safetymanager

I think you are being naive Dudess, if he was "out of it on drink & painkillers" why was he allowed on the flight and how did he remember taking three more pills before boarding but has no memory of getting to the airport, of the flight itself or of getting home afterwards???? Did he drive from the airport to his home I wonder? If he did not know what he was doing on this occasion then it's possible he could do worse the next time he "drinks alcohol and takes pills". Mind you now that he has been arrogant enough to warn us all of the dangers perhaps he might not indulge himself so quickly again.

Maybe I am being naive Safetymanager, but... would a person who is in the public eye, has a reputation to uphold, a family, a successful career, a lot of respect (if much of it unfounded) knowingly do something that could potentially end a lot of all of the above for him?

Never passed it off as almost acceptable - it isn't - but I just said I think it isn't as horrific as people are claiming it is. A person could do a LOT worse.
Being off his head may not excuse it, but it does go a way towards explaining it. It means he needs to watch his alcohol consumption and not mix it with anything else in future.

You know what Dudess, you seem like a really nice understanding person, fair dues to you. I won't be changing my opinion though as I feel differently to you and we are all entitled to our opinions. Speaking of opinions, I think the matter of free speech which Neil P is so fond of when he is on air is totally being ignored by 96fm on this particular subject. They cleared FB of all negative comments and won't read out either positive or negative reaction to the matter. If it was anyone else in this position it would be covered in depth by Neil in particular and by the news team also.

Well yeah, I'm fully in agreement with that - can never understand when that happens. It's done to save face, yet surely it's realised it makes things look even worse...?!

Never heard of the bloke, but if I had been on that flight and saw that "display" it isn't him I'd have the problem with. Aer Lingus seriously f*cked up.

From reading of Prendeville's arrogance throughout this thread, I wonder did the alcohol and painkillers have any effect.

Maybe his ego had become so inflated along with his level of narcissism, especially following a day as a guest of honour at some convention, he felt entitled to masturbate himself in front of the general public - maybe he thought he was doing the air hostesses a favour by inviting them to suck him off, while at the same time ingratiating other passengers with the sight of his glorious penis.
