Just wanted to express my frustration at the number of cars I see each night driving with only`pàrking lights`on and guess what!! only one is working! why both at all! but the best I saw tonight on a wet and dark night was 2 taxis with NO lights but guess what? they had remembered to put `for hire`light on on the roof!!! Lights are not just for you to see but for us to see you!!!OK

Parking lights - the bane of my existence!

In daytime, it's annoying too, (you know rainy/murky conditions). Really need that LED board so I can scroll "We see parking lights AT THE SAME TIME as we see your car, muppet!!!!!"

Where's the fkn benefit, it's not rocket science?????

edit: another hate is parking lights + fogs at night, emmmm, use your 'real' lights!

Well I cant drive with my parking lights on, only when I am parked. Otherwise I just use my sidelights while driving

Your parking lights are either your dipped beams or your sidelights - depends on the car. It's the same bulb does both jobs

I have to agree, the amount of cars I have passed with no lights on, especially during twilight hours, thye just can't be seen.

Heres and Idea, the new Gatso vans, have them also take pictures of cars with light off or faulty, ie only 1 light working and send the automatic fine. People will soon light. Whats the rule again, Half hour before sunset and half hour after sunrise.

Well you are dealing with taxis who are not noted for being concerned with mundane things like road safety. You perhaps have also probably seen their use of hazard warning lights as indicators therefore covering both turning left or right scenarios

In most Taxi's the roof sign is wired to the meter which means the roof sign switches off when the meter becomes engaged so a driver doesn't need to remember to switch it on/off so stop using this thread to have another go at taxi drivers, we get enough of a kicking as it is! but I fully agree with you, I see people (usually little ole dears) driving around with no lights on except the interior lights! I have also seen Taxi drivers (so called "professional" drivers:rolleyes:) with passengers and speeding along with no lights on, FFS, do they never look at their instrument panel (which would be in darkness of course). Unfortunately, it doesn't take any skill or care to be a taxi driver but it takes buckets of both to be a good one.

Now who is having a dig at these lovely, hard working people?

Let's not let this turn into another fog light thread. We know they're idiots. But it's been done soooooo many times before.

On that note and in keeping with the thread, how many people do you reckon are driving along in the early dusk hours and have sidelights on, hence the dashboard is lit up. When night truely falls they look down, see the dash is lit and carry on driving. Never turning on the dip beams.

LOOK OUT IN FRONT . Its dark. Still.

Not on the Focus! There is a separate switch for the parking lights and I am sure of it separate bulbs!

You turn the knob to P and the light stays on. What would be the benefit of having another bulb in the headlight for this purpose be when the ones in there can do the job?!?
