kinda just leaving my options open, cause I've got the opportunity to get another 6970 to trifire in the future if I want it. but mostly cause it only cost me €130, and its supposedly the quietest I'd get for that price. the other choice was a CM silent pro m2 1000W, but its only semi modular, and isn't as quiet in reviews.

My cheapo Argos kitchen table is on it's last legs (ho ho). Well, it's actually the laminated top surface that's in bits, so I'm thinking of forking out for a new pc desk set up. What are ye using yourself? Any recommendations (other than Ikea which I've checked out already)?

Is that the XFX Black edition? Some tests put that as the quietest PSUs around, matching well up to Seasonic's top X series are are themselves supposed to be very quiet.
I think you need to look out soundproofing if you're trying to cut out noise to that level.

    yea I guess so.

I've got my 360 rad now, and I kinda miss judged the size of it. I've got no space for my fan controller unless I ditch my HDD :(

I figured I'd fit my hdd behind it on the same 5.25" bay, but its a no go.

anyone ever ghetto mount a hdd? need ideas..

you could tape the sh*t out of it next to your mobo, or just sit it around the power supply, or anywhere it fits for that matter

Maybe hang/suspend it with rubber bands?

That's actually genius, does away with vibration and all

also, whoever was complaining about MSI's downloads being crap is bloody right. I'm trying to download afterburner at a whopping 16KB/s today. Pretty sure it's not my connection, either, as I was dling at 900KB/s off steam about an hour ago.

    What?

Brain not functioning today. Catalyst Control Centre not Panel.

Thing nuked itself recently and I can get it back working(Monitoring component fails on boot, cant manually start any of it).

    5y50w.png

That appears to be say MSI there. Desktop context menu has same.

Probably should remove all AMD/ATI+MSI stuff and start clean. Stress.

i know we are not that much in to laptops lads, buti got newsletter from komplett.ie and this sort of looks quite cool.

    http://www.komplett.ie/Komplett/product/15_16_inch/80006571/medion_erazer_15_6_x6821_i7_3610qm_8gb_750g%2b128/details.aspx

for that price, you get a damn powerfull laptop. considering how much people pay for Ipads, this looks quite damn good.

Didn't you say that you used to play World of Warcrack? Those kinds of games should be avoided if you want to keep some semblance of a life!

i used to, i will be playing again as lads are going for it too ( new expansion ). i guess another few months of it and ill be gone again.

i spend a lot of my time by pc anyway. I have a wonderful misses shadowhearth, who lets me play when ever i want and how much i want. I still got a full time job, misses, 2 dogs now! :p, car hobby and pc hobby.
Mmorpgs can be a lot of fun when played right. i met a good few friends in game and now they are my real life friends. Those games are not evil by themselfs, its what individual will make out of it.

Hey ShadowHearth, did you try the workaround for getting surround to work with different monitor types here? Not sure what I posted it but it was only in last few days-on the mobile bot go back thru my posts-worth a try m8

that's terrible news. they really are a great monitor for not a whole lot more than a half decent TN panel.

built a friend a PC with this recently, and I got to say, its a beautiful monitor. I spent a few hours using it and its very good all round. colours are very vibrant, probably the best TN panel I've used. ill be buying one myself to replace my dated 19" secondary screen when funds permit.

I got it working the way it was explained on that website when I got my second 2312hm.

Even now all my monitors software wise are 2312hm. It sous make it work and forces surround to work, but then all the **** starts to happen:
Every time you restart it will drop resolution from native to half of that and destroy all your desktop shortcut positions.
Then you need to go to nvidia control panel, break the surround and manually reassign proper positions to monitors, only then you can gorse surround again!!!

So it makes a mess of your pc after each restart, and of you are a pedantic prick who likes stuff where it is for years, you will go nuts after 3 restarts!!!

I started playing eve online and my got 3 monitor setup should be awesome for it!!! So many windows and stuff I could have at the same time on screen, but I just could not be arsed to go through all prices again :(.
Another thing: if I play 1080p it shuts down other 2 monitors, which is stupid. So it's aither surround or suck it. :(

Can someone please point me in the direction of a good youtube of overclocking for noobs. Do you use some software? Also, how can you tell if you have a "golden" chip(Tea Bag, I'm aiming that question at you has I have heard you mention it before)?

    Not Youtube, but: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056515869

A golden chip is simply one of many ways of saying you have a processor that overclocks well when compared to the average overclock obtainable by others using the same processor. The only way to find out if it's a good one is to overclock it.
