Some how I'm missing 10GB off my SSD.
I went into it on My Computer and it says 13GB left, when I go into it, and select all items on the SSD, then and go to properties, it tells me that everything on the SSD only takes up 39GB, which means I should have 25-ish GB left.

Anyone have an ideas where that 10-ish GB are? Hibernation and Page Filing is turned off.

I use this, it's handy for giving you a visual representation of what's taking up the most space. Especially when your trying to conserve space on an SSD.

Which do you guys think would be better, 3 22" 1080p TN monitors, or 1 Catleap/one of those fancy DELL ones?

Depends what it's being used for. If you really just want Eyefinity, then obviously, the three monitors would be best. If you're looking for a good setup for movies, games, etc. and just all round everything, I'd definitely go with an IPS. You could probably run two 2312Ms, if you wanted either.

On the topic of Apple, has anyone seen the iPad 3's screen res? 2048x1536  !!!!
I'd love to get my hands on one to have a look at this apparently amazing screen. Obviously I wouldn't give Apple my money though :P

Hopefully this might bring high quality, high res monitors into the mainstream market so we can all enjoy cheaper IPS monitors :)

Friend has the 27" Thunderbolt display, running an iPad3 app in the simulator more than fills his screen.

Answering to tea_bag here as I don't want to go off topic in bargain alert thread:

What happened in motors forum? Well we had an off topic thread in there, which worked find. All the lads were messing around in it and got to know each other more then just from Motörhead side. So then admins started "asking" us to talk on topic of motors in off topic thread, and don't talk off topic in off topic thread....
Then admin just decided to lock up the thread as it was too much work to monitor that thread. So then a lot of people got possed off, some poeple opened threads to discuss this in motor forums and got 1 month ban. Me included, bit I knew I will get that ban. :) the price to pay lol

I was getting a "machine check error" on my htpc and in trying to identify the problem I took apart the stock fan from the processor a few times. Do I need to reapply thermal paste after doing that? It kinda looked dried out although the temps are keeping around 40-45c most of the time so I dont think its overheating as it is. thanks

100% yes, clean all the old thermal paste off and reapply new.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 77 ✭✭tdh

Thanks Genghiz, I was hoping you wouldn't say that as I dont have thermal paste or alcohol to remove it:D
Is it possible to buy that stuff on hardwareversand as I may be putting another order in soon?

    Here

Bit of rubbing is all that's needed usually. Unless you got some of that cement stuff on there that sticks the parts together.

I use dry kitchen roll and a light pressure, it takes a min to two but it all comes off.

Although GPT has better features, it's not that well supported still. I've noticed a few minor problems with GPT such as cloning software not liking it. If you're just using the hard drive as storage, it should make little difference, but you'll need newer hardware and OS to go with it if you're booting - If you have that and don't plan to move around the drive, them sure, go ahead with GPT.
