What do you think of the K-7? I've got a K20D and a K10D, so the K-7 or the K-5 would be kind of a logical step-up for me at some point. :)

Oh I really like it- well built, laughably easy to use and with a million options I still haven't gone near. The K5 looks like it's a nice camera but its arrival should mean a price drop for the K7. If you're around Dublin I can let you have a go of mine if you haven't tried it somewhere already.

Cheers for all the replies so far.
I never realised people would have so much equiptment, in some cases more than 1 good, high spec camera.
What's the need for >1 camera, unless 1 is a backup? But if you're not a pro why do you need a bakcup?
I thought that most people would upgrade and sell their older one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,270 ✭✭✭✭Paulw

It can be hard to sell off an older body, for a decent price.

For me, a 2nd body is always very useful for sport.

Its surpasses all the available Zuiko primes who's field of view fall within its range. 35/2, 40/2, all the standard 50's, 80/2. The 50/2 macro is probably the only exception. It has a bit more barrel distortion than the 35's but makes up for that in resolution and contrast. I sold off my 35/2 after acquiring the 35-80 and have thought of selling the 50/1.2 but can't quite bring myself to do that ;-)

Some people are horrified at the price of this lens but if you add up the cost of the fixed primes it can replace, it is no more expensive - or wasn't the last time I did the calculations.
