    Yeah. Yesterday and today.
It's off now though. Being fat has its advantages.

Yep. Have lit a few fires in the last couple of weeks, and have had the heating on a couple of times too-was on earlier actually.

Live in an apartment, so the apartments below mine heat my apartment. I save a fortune on heating bills. :D Money I can put towards my crippling mortgage. :(

I'm winning against all of you. :p
I'm thinking the place I'm living may have a B2 ber rating, but only guessing this from googling, didn't get one when I moved in (it should have had one though).

Have been wondering if I have benefited from this. there is one floor below and one above me.
It's been swelteringly warm the last couple of months.

It's been on this past week, it's fcuking freezing around here. I even had to de-ice the car yesterday morning....

Although my room is so draughty it does not help, only thing for that room is 2 duvets and socks in bed

My central heating doesn't work so it's up to me to earn a wage while it sits around all day, not even warming the house.
My house is bloody freezing so I've had my electric heater on. But I've been sleeping with a hot water bottle in my bed since September because I live in such a dank draughty ice cold sh!thole.

I've had the heating on for the past few weeks. I don't see the point in being cold.

I like to turn the heating up full. Then if it gets too warm I open windows one by one til I find the right temperature...

Now you are going to start a massive panic in the country like the one over in the economics thread where everyone thinks they should move their money abroad...

Everyone else is doing it so we should turn on the heating.

Actually, if it annoys the green party, I think I'll turn it on too :):pac:

Rigger, since this is a 50/50 question I've added a poll.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,190 ✭✭✭✭seamus

Been on since Sunday (I think), very low just to maintain the ambient temp. I'm a little higher up than most people though, so it's usually about 2 degrees colder in my area than the rest of Dublin. -2 on wednesday morning!

back on couple of nights. Not looking forward to the bill though.

The last bill was for 96 cent gas used. But the bill came to 12.24!!

Made up to that by a standing charge, VAT, and carbon Tax. All legal I'm sure, but fukkit, the dirty basterds can't keep doing this.

thats 1200% more than what I actaully bought.

Its like a butcher saying "2 euro please for the pound of rashers. That'll be 24 euro then please."

I ticked "have not" yesterday. Can i change it to "raced in the feckin door and put all the rads and fire on" today?

Took 2hrs gettin home from work, got soaked leggin it from the car and my place was freezing. Put a fleece on and all (shexy). Its baltic. Winter is here alright!:(

Lovely and toasty now so happy days :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,739 ✭✭✭✭kylith

Have had it on for more than showers for the last week. Bled the rads and turned on the one in the hall yesterday.

I love the tic-tic-tic-woomph of gas heating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

Standing charges are sh1t alright. Load of arse especially for something you only use half the year.
