    Ring them?

No phone number on their site. I'm heading in to town-ish later so may stop by then. Couldn't be arsed with the lengthy walk just to find they don't have it.

Dying for a go though, it's some table. :)

Surely they have a contact number, try 11811

The only contact number they probably have is the mobile number of one of those rum characters that hangs around outside the place.

I wanna play pinball, not buy a gram of Charles n Eddie! :pac:

I do miss GOOD pinball machines!! (From the 80s -- NOT THESE NEW TRASH MACHINES I HAVE SEEN!! (Most are way too electronic and crappy for my liking))

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,004 ✭✭✭Shapey Fiend

Quirkies still have Rolling Stones and Big Buck Hunter. Was in there a week ago. Seapoint have Tron and Big Buck Hunter pinball was there a week and a half ago.

They've got Hopping Road now as well. Not a particularly sophisticated game but a bit of an unusual curio.

I notice oldschool mechanical games are kind of becoming popular again. All the kiddy gambling/redemption stuff in there is in that style now. It's like going back to the 70's.

I got the official word from that gaf in Galway today regarding what happened to the Tron pinball machine. As follows:
    Hi Mr. Jong-un,

We were having technical issues with this machine so it was returned to the supplier, it will not be returned.

    Kind regards,

    Seapoint Leisure
    Salthill, Galway, Ireland.
    Telephone: 00 353 91 521716
    E-mail: info@seapointleisure.ie
    www.seapointleisure.ie

So, there you have it. Galway won't be seeing that table again. Good job I didn't go out of my way to stop off there and see if they had it.

Can anyone confirm if Dr. Mario Balotelli's in Dublin has it?

    Shame, good table.

Is Dr. Mario Balotelli's an actual place, never heard of it ;-)

Anyway two second hand Sterns in Dublin Airport past security in T1 just before the new Loop shopping area.

Off as it was a 6.00 am flight. The guy turned them on just after the photo and said they were played from morning till night the few days they were there.

    Avatar and Ironman

Assume those are the two tables used be in Quirkies. I loved Iron Man, great looking table with excellent sound effects. Avatar was quite an annoying table in my experience but maybe I just didn't spend enough time with it.

What's Dr. Mariotelli's? Was in Quirkies a couple of days ago and still just Big Buck Hunter and Rolling Stones.

Answered your own question there guv. :)

I'm assuming Mario Balotelli's didn't get Tron in then? Argh! Guess we've as much chance of seeing it in Ireland as seeing Darius Burst AC EX in Dr. Mario Balotelli's too.

They have Darius Burst in Goodge St. Casino in London. Really enjoyed it but you 'd need to spend a bit of time with it or have practiced the PSP version because the game mechanics take a bit of practice.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

That's on my 'to do' list for 2012. I must get over to London at some point and give Darius Burst a good seeing to. Fnarr fnarr! ;)

I was down in Curracloe at the weekend and there is a Stern Elvis machine there. Just beside the beach. Can't remember the name of the arcade, but it's the only one there. Seemed a little neglected as the ball did seem a bit too keen to go straight down the middle. I have not played it in Pinmame though, so maybe it is just an awkward table. Had a few good games though.
I think the owner might be an Elvis fan as there was also a coin-drop game there called Elvis!

I hope Tron pinball comes to Dublin, I would definitely head to wherever it is located armed with stacks of coins to play it. I'm certainly considering a beano to Galway over the bank holiday period. :)

FYI they have a Tron Pinball table in the cinema in liffey valley. Spotted it at batman on friday.

Nice one, I'll be over to have a look at that ;-)

Anything else spotted or moved form one place to another?

i think you have to actually be going to the cinema to play it, its past the point where they take your tickets.

I was in Tramore recently where they still have quite a few arcades. They'd No Good Gofers which was pretty dirty but seemed to play fine. Simpsons Pinball Party was pretty badly maintained no power in the flippers. They'd a CSI pinball as well and that seemed to work fine.

Most of my money however went into Crisis Zone. Hadn't seen that in years and it plays wonderfully. Hard as nails but much better than Time Crisis 3/4 or whatever you generally see around.

They have Buck Hunter and Theatre of magic a few arcades down from that. I asked one of the lads I know working there if they had any old machines out the back...but nothing :(

I played that in an arcade in Florida when it came out. Extremely good fun even if the movie was rubbish.

Project pinball machines worth the time or just money pits? I know nothing about them but I'd love to get my hands on one, and maybe project is the only way to go since most restored machines very expensive
