    after the times you removed/uninstalled the device, did you reinstall it in the same USB port or a different one?

    So you probably do need the driver cab solution as your system can't load the CDROM drivers anymore.

    You will need to do something clever to copy the driver cab file over now, either by mounting your HDD in another machine or across a network as I suspect if you try to copy the file using any CDROM or USB device the device won't be recognised - but try anyway.

    Define professional ;)
    Most would quite sencibly just take a quick look and then tell you they needed to reinstall Windows. Hopefully your sister has a full backup of all her stuff.
