Since Stan does not seem to be around anymore I figured we needed a new thread for photos of Limerick. I know there are lots of photographers on here so the idea is anyone who has a nice pic of anything Limerick related or just a nice pic can stick it up What do you think ? I liked the stuff Stan was doing and it put a bit of a positive vibe out about Limerick.

So to kick things off some pics of our newest visitor ( and his wife )

Nice pics of the swans, I read in one of the Limerick papers that they were originally in Castleconnell but somebody was shooting at them with a pellet gun so they came to Limerick City.

Why should he grow up?ccsl started a thread that stan already had going. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055776353

Without dragging this thread way off topic because I think it should be full of photos rather than discussion but ccsl clearly invited others to contribute to this thread whereas Stan seemed to want his thread to be his own, or at least that's the impression I got from him and hence stopped posting my photos there.

I welcome this thread as a place to show some shots from Limerick and hopefully others will post their favourite places and photos.

I'll try get a bigger sized version of them, But I had cropped them down and re-sized for posting, so I'll have to check the PSD.

WOw, that last one of the park is stunning. With all the bad rap Limerick gets its easy to forget the beauty that we have around us, I've always been in Aww of central park in ny but that pic reminds me that we have our own little centralpark right here.

Mr Sniper, are these pics HDR'd?

Crop and Saturation increase by about +15 to enhance the greens, and hue -8 to bring out the browns. The Shannon However was just long exposure.

Agreed, however I believe the tide goes over the base of the wall there at high tide.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,210 ✭✭✭dave 27

then it would even look better as the water around it would be lit up! they should seriously look into this, maybe research how they do it in other cities and adopt their method

    Hi all,
As an American who has visited Limerick 2 times (2005, 2009), and has a few good friends there, I love these threads.

I come to this forum to read about Limerick, and what's going on. I *loved* Stan's photo thread. It enabled me to sit at work, and look at photos and dream of walking around limerick. Magical virtual travel.

Thank you for making a new thread, I'm happy to see photos of anything in Limerick, not just the artsy stuff. Even a photo of Abra Kebabra, or little Catherine Street.

    *Sigh* Missing limerick...

afaik, you can get fully waterproof and submersible floodlights these days.

I am no electrician, but maybe there is a sparky out there who might be able to tell us more on this.

I'm not in Limerick very often, but here a couple of my own personal favourites. I keep meaning to do some Limerick at night ones, by the river, as I love pics with long-exposure water reflections... simply gorgeous! :-)
