Im starting to look for a .223 rifle second hand and there verly scarce:D. I have seen quiet a few cz hornets in immaculate condition for €500. I have to go new if I want a good .223. Ive been thinking could I not buy a hornet and have it rechambered? What would it cost to have it rechambered? ( Im only looking to spend 5 to €600)

    OP

This could be your cheapest option for .223.
Rechambering is normally done for fellas who don't really mind the cost TBH.

If you have a budget S/H is your best bet.

The Hornet and the .223 Rem are completely different cartridges, the Hornet has a rimmed base of 7.6mm the .223 is 9.6 rimless.
Thus you would not only need to rechamber you would also need a new bolt.
plus the chamber pressures would be very different. Hornet maximum PSI is 43,000 the .223 Rem is 55,000 PSI.
Not worth the time and trouble IMO.

if you could roll your own ammo, a 22 K hornet would be nice.

try landers in TraleeI bought a new Luger 223 from them recently for very cheap money( less than your looging to spend...just make sure you get the mounts with it ;) for what you pay the gun is accurate enough,I've done 3/4" groups @ 100 yds wiht mine... they seem solid enough :)
