Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Damn, my tv deletes encrypted service's / no service.. let's see if it retunes it.

But if it was given a taste of VideoGaurd, I'm sure it'll be addict to it.

Soon to be part of BskyB

Has nobody asked them on FB or Twitter? Surely some kind of announcement has to be made somewhere when you start publicly broadcasting?

And Scotland's HD on the EPG has bumped BBC 2 from 108 to 110 on Freesat which in turn has moved BBC Four SD to 173 which very high.

The first step in moving away from standard definition to high definition. German has started with Sky Germany closing all it,s SD premium channels and all other free to air channels by 2020/2021.

Hard to see that happening on Freesat/Sky unless Astra are throwing birds into orbit to increase the capacity. Also Channel 4 HD fled freesat due to supposed excessive charges so that hardly suggests a smooth changeover. Hard to imagine the likes of the CBS/Sony channels coughing up and if Freesat has to change it's business model it might just close instead (or maybe slim down its channel range dramatically).

Though weirdly it came back on satellite yesterday after going off air on Friday

We could see a lot of niche channels like it disappear from Sky and others in the ROI in the new year because of brexit and the need to be licenced in the eu. Many uk broadcasters may not bother with the ROI.

It's FTA and licenced in France anyway I believe

Always thought TV5 would have been a great addition to Freesat esp with subtitles - the FTA never had that option alas.

I lost it , then realized the frequency was coming up as different 11426 or something , so 2days ago i manually input astra 2 , 11306 vertical 27500 and about 6 channels populated Sony movies being 1 of them , hopefully doesn't go again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,031 ✭✭✭✭Johnboy1951

Indeed it has ..... and rather intrusive it is too.

What is that "Shared Layout" on the other side to the DOG?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,558 ✭✭✭Gerry Wicklow

Wild guess it's in the software like a "insert headline here" type of thing.

Not seeing Smithsonian showing up on a scan - whats the tuning stats?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,558 ✭✭✭Gerry Wicklow

    11171 H 22000, 5/6, DVB-S, QPSK Sid=51110
It's only a test loop and not sure if it will be FTA

It seems the same few videos are showing in a loop so nothing much to see at all.
Only the fact that it is present is interesting .... and the faint possibility it might be FTA when launched. :)

Correspondents over on Digital Spy have spotted a new SD test card from RTE, which has appeared on 11.914H. At the moment, it can be tuned in on Other Channels under the label 5493 with an active Irish subscription.

I wonder if this test is for the long awaited RTE TWO+1channel or a possible extention of RTE+ONE broadcasting hours into daytime.

Virgin Radio going on satellite! Must be the Chris Evans effect!

    11.552 H SR 22000 FEC 5/6 DVB-S QPSK

    55135 - Virgin Radio

Vintage Music is coming - View TV Group who hosted Vintage TV stream are taking up the slack and starting a fresh jukebox format channel from late January - Sky, Freeview are mentioned so FTA for the rest of us. Maybe Freesat can follow though given their hike in charges maybe not.

That’s correct they are. Are they replacing a Travel channel I wonder? I hope not. A lot of DMAX programmes are on travel channel now and they have DMAX ads too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,558 ✭✭✭Gerry Wicklow

Seems they're bumping Travel on FreeView not sure about FreeSat. Possibly ch 180 + 181 on FreeSat
